Are you sure? I always read somewhere that it was 8.

It's 10 like Heimdal said. Test in STARCRAFT, if you don't believe me.

I just did test, it's 11.something, definitly.
Appearently 11 exactly since that's the biggest range value starcraft can show from a singal unit and the whole idea of map revealers is to reveal large area.

[edit] just count the marines happy.gif

Center units are not counted. It's 10. Who gives a censored.gif if it has .3 or .5 extra.

in aresrnal 3 it is 10 im sry if you think otherwise but it is 10 that is a large area
11.5 is only a tiny bit larger.

The range is 11right, 11 left And I believe the highth is 8(Not 100%sure on the height). Why? Because units are offset. When you look at the Minimap, you see units at the offset of over 1. (Toward the right 1 square). So really the vision of a map reveal is 11/11, so you compensate for this "offset" place the map reveal 11+1/11-1 from disired vision cut off point. So say there is points abcd to cut off at (bc), you would count 12 from (a) and 11 from (d), this will give you point (bc) shaded or unvisioned.

Vision is based from the center of the unit. So if you place a map reveal in the middle of a square it will end with half a square showing and the other half not. (This is why people think its .5 or whatever). I will post my Flash_Light_D map, if people need to see.

I tested it.

You can see clearly and fully for 10 squares up, down, left and right.
However, you can also see for about another one and a half squares in "half vision" - the area is greyed, but you can still make out the terrain.

If you're going to put a number on its sight range, it is 10.

It is not 10. I know its not unless starcraft lie's in game. which is does not. I will post my map if you really need to see. Anyways, when did I say it wasnt round? I didnt post the height befor so I said it wasnt round? I was editing my post befor you posted.

See if we are talking "full" vision. it is 10. other wise its 11.

I don't see why everyone's getting into a big fight over this when some simple testing will explain it. Looks like biskit did, and I just confirmed his findings.

If you place a map revealer with its center on a grid intersection, it can see units 11 grid units (tiles) away. The 11th tile will be partially covered in fog, but it can still see it. As a side note, the height is exactly the same as the width. Two map revealers placed horizontally from each other will merge the vision area when they are 22 tiles apart.

The number in Arsenal 3 says 10. This must mean that 10 is the number of tiles that it can see clearly, but all units partially see one extra tile.
