Staredit Network

Last night I decided to play some of these maps in this forum. By playing them I feel I can make better suggestions and comments to things I would not otherwise see.
Ok now to find someone to play with? Not easy for me… bad internet connection compounded by the fact that very few ppl seem willing to play some unknown “melee” map with a mediocre player such as myself. So I’ve made these replays against a computer opponent. I will be the first one to admit a computer can by no means “strategically” test any given map. They don’t think!

However, quite a few subtle little things about map will become apparent just by playing a simple game…any game! Also since these maps are “unfamiliar” to me, these replays might represent how someone “new” to the maps might also experience them. Ok so here are the maps played in this replay package and some quick comments/links.

By the way not that it really matters, but this was against the TUFF AI! Yenku's island map TvZ is FRICKIN impossible!!!

crazy comp payed me back for 1st game. This is a great map! Nice eye-candy! Plenty of room to build. Everything flows well towards center. In this replay the small water “hole” in top center helps enemy tanks nicely.

Thanks for playing my maps. I can play you for fun tommorow, but from what it seems you don't play very much and I don't think much would be gained from us playing. Still, if you want to beef up your replays, I'll do it. What time do you want (if you want to)?

This should be incorporated into Map Night. A sub-division where its melee maps being played. People will get a better understanding of the map once theyve played it, not like me who just criticize just from looking at them.

Very, very few people will be willing to play melee maps anyway... Even fewer will actually meet at the map night. It would be cool, though =(

I'll play you. I haven't logged on B.net for about 3 months, I just started playing again 2 weeks ago and I'm getting back on my game. Not on my all time best but I'm getting there.

I'm on most of the time until Moday when school starts. Map night would be a good choice though.

BTW: I've been meaning to ask. Are you really SlayerS_'BoxeR'? Would be nice to say that you beat me lol.

A progamer wouldn't be coming to message boards (except for Legionnaire! ). Top tier players like boxer, oov, yellow, reach, nal_ra, etc. play literally 8-12 hours a day. You guys should really get into the pro scene, it is extremely fun to follow (and their skill is... you just have to watch them). It is extremely popular in south korea, with more fans going to starcraft games than to baseball games.

To answer your quesiton about the crowds, there are only two people playing, but there are very large TV screens showing the game as well.

Let's just make it so that channel always has these types of games. I played baja four times, and neither of us were playing our best.

He hadn't played in a long time (I beleive months), and I hadn't played in two weeks, so the games aren't stellar. I don't have the one where I lost (I always do that >.<), if he could upload at least that one it would be awesome.

Actually, one of the games was on Lost Temple, so I don't know if I should uppload that one.

Ok I would really love to play these forum's melee maps on Bnet 1 night a week! Definitely something I would look forward to. Also may spur me to attempt to tackle another map?

I was mostly playing backstabs, but I was in the channelf or quite a while though.
I was from like 5PM to 8PM my time.
That is 4PM to 7PM Eastern time.

I was on a lot, and I kept spamming for 1 on 1s. You weren't there. >.< I was (and will be) TLdotNET.

I'll be on later today if you want to play, on any map. I decided it will be best not to post those games, because we both sucked. I want to play you today again today.

We should start a tourney here, just for fun. It should have best of 3 matches only of user made maps. We should make a list of playable maps (I don't think the entire promap section is game worthy).

Here at SEN Pro Melee doesn't mean something like Ash Rose or Paradoxx but a pretty decent melee map that could be played many times.

If such a tournament was to be made, 1 map that would have to be there is (2)Helix, made by Chris(Shadow_Paladin). I think that map is good enough to be plays in World Game Tour and several competitive gameing sites.

About the map: explain how it is balanced for zerg with no natrual. Maybe there is something I am missing?
