Enough to add another 30 seconds to the time it takes for me to load a page.

Just to tell you - those buttons are massive in size. They take ages to load for dial up users. Even ours is too big, and we're going to change it to something else.

The TA one is huge because you have like 20 of the same frame in it instead of a long wait for 2 frames.

I think im going to take every affiliate button and remove the animations.

Website making is a serious learning experience for me. I'm starting to realize that huge images are overrated and screw up load times and bandwidth majorly.

I knew that before I was a webmaster.

Oh yes, because EVERYONE can afford a high end internet connection.

Even if, extremely large images are long to load, and even if you have broadband, its slow to download, takes up ram, etc.

Plus, you see sliding doors or whatever in most of those gifs up there. Whats more important, the doors or your websites name?

Sometimes a simple few frame gif will do the trick. The whole point is to show a little cool button about your website/whatever.

Luckily Maxthon sucks when it comes to animation is Sigs and Avatars, so I don't get seizues from your avatar or your entire on going moving signature.
