Well, I've made a decent number of maps, and this is one of my least known ones. It takes way too much thinking and patience for the general SC population. Although it wasn't popular, and isn't my favorite to play of my own maps (it lacks replay value, it's hard to get decent people to play, it lacks replay value, and.. it really does lack any replay value whatsoever), it's one of the maps I enjoyed making the most, and one of the ones I was most pleased with afterwards, because it met my original expectations.

My problem is that due to a lack of intelligent participation while playing this map, well, a lack of participation in general, I've yet to get any credible feedback on it. Any thoughts whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Hmm.. it seems all the spaces and the hyphens on either side of AZ were changed to underscores. Isn't that interesting O_o It's supposed to be 'Time Shifter vFinal -AZ-.scx'.. I don't know if it downloads differently, or if I'm missing how to stop it from changing them all the underscores, but multiple filenames for the same map on bnet really wouldn't make my day tongue.gif Just wondering how that works.

Edit #2: As I can't figure out how to make it not change the filename's spaces and hyphens to underscores, and don't really like the idea of distributing a map with a different filename, I'll use a link rather than uploading it. The map can be downloaded below.

Time Shifter vFinal -AZ-.scx

I figured out how to stop from dying and talk to people when you go back in time, but talking to people in the real world was quite difficult, I couldn't reach many of them before dying. It seems like a good idea, but it was hard to know what direction to take at the begining, I couldn't find a starting point, such as who to talk to to start off with.
You were right though it does take a lot of thinking and patience, more than what I have at 3:00 am. tongue.gif

I probably should have mentioned that it's impossible to do without at least two people, one to shift and one to explore ><

The game is presented pretty well, but I think the terrain is very poor. I don't think you should ever use buildings for walls, that's what the damn tiles are for. You should have presented the objectives a little clearer and allow a little more room for error since no one wants to restart the game only 90 seconds after it started.

really, really good idea. I'd suggest a 'save' system for this game though...So damn annoying that you die so easilly...spent our whole 10 hours on this map today...Noooooooo we didn't practice melee!
Thanks for this map!
As for terrian, I think the buildings as wall are better.
Just a thought.

I won't deny the fact the terrain sucks. Terrain definitely isn't my strong point tongue.gif I try to make up for it with trigger skill and creativity though. As for the buildings as walls, the Temple tiles really weren't what I was looking for, and when I'm trying to make small buildings and use the actual tileset for creating walls, it turns out looking worse than if I had just used buildings tongue.gif I should probably start taking advantage of StarForge more ><

Regarding a save feature, you can use the actual 'Save Game' option. I have one or two saved games for this map. As for a room for error, well, the way I beat it is by having one person who stands at the shifter the entire time, and every time the clock his T- 5 seconds, they shift, thus making sure you can't die via holocaust explosion. The other person just explores and figures out everything. In the past, the designated shifter can help too, as they have plenty of time to leisurely explore and get back to the laboratory.

Thank you for the input so far biggrin.gif

Nowadays Bnet community have no brains!
This happened real...I hosted this map with full house before I go.
Half a minute later...
Player 2: wtf this is gay
Player 3: Why cant I walk through buildings?
Player 4: I dont get this!
Player 5: what's the reaver for?

and they all left.
I'm really, really angry at those peoples. Common! Starcraft is a strategy game! Use your heads!
I have a clue and can solve this map alreadys, but I can't execute the actions because no one wants to use their brain at all, how hard is it to 'go to the bottom left of this room' and 'wait here'? ranting.gif ranting.gif mad.gif ranting.gif mad.gif
