Just wondering for some optimization...
Whats this poll for...are you going to add a unit search option or something?
i dont get this poll -_-;
Why is this in SCMdraft? And what do you mean? When you are editing a map, how many pre-placed units you see on your screen?
He wants to make SCMDraft2 faster.
BTW He is Suicidal Insanity (the creator of SCMD2).
Who doesnt know that here?
anways, how can he make it faster?
11-25 but of course it varies per map.
Depends. Sometimes, I have no units.
Sometimes I have massed zerglings.. or map revealers if you're counting them.
I'm counting everything, I was thinking of changing the backbuffers to reduce ram usage, however it would increase CPU usage when you have many units onscreen.
Depends on if i'm using any preplaced gridding or not. I would use a LOTR map as your standard.
101-250... I have a big screen.
i want those multiple screen hookups
my dad has liek 2 screens, i think pixles are like...2000x1000 ....(or maybe reversed)
and it also depends on the zoom.
also the zoom makes my computer laggy.
If you're talking about just on my screen at a time while editting, usually 50-100
If you're talking about all the units totaled on the map and when opened in the editor, I would say 251-750
751+, but it creates a fun situation when i delete them.

I mean on the screen, as I stated in the topic.
guess I;ll either make this adaptive or an option and see what everyone says to performance changes (if anyone bothers saying something at all ;( )
When making Bounds, RPGs, anything else, usually 1-10. Sometimes in areas of Defenses, 11-25.
SI you shoudl take a little poll like Valve does for there mod communtiy.
Valve takes a poll, which helps give the average specs so the mod communtiy knows what to target.(It auto detects there hardware)
Maybe if you take a poll here at SEN, or you could have something that happens only once, and asks if they want to take a survey. You could detect there specs, send that info to you to see how much ram\cpu speeds & clock rates the average person has. Then if people that use your program have on average alot more ghz\clock rates then you could use the backbuffers.
I dun know, this option really really varies per map. Whatever, just tryin to give ideas.
well i put 101-150 becouse well yes that alot but well it well make maping alot ezer to do and it might slow it down a little but not alot
When in the world would you need 101-150 units in the SCMD2 screen at once?
umm i dont know just seems cool having that meny units in one screen insteed of well 11-25 or somthing
The question isn't what is cool, its what do you usually have while working on maps...
well i usally make the terran then go put in the triggers and well, you have a good point? maybe i should of voted 11-25 i change my vote i usally dont use units but there are them points when i do use them so yes 11-25
if you usually have 0 units on screen then vote 0 8[
I can put 5000 on the screen at a time, but thats not a realistic usage scenario.
