Read about it here:

x: Section 'SIDE', designates species of each player
beta57 * 1.00 * 1.04 * Brood REQUIRED

12 bytes - 1 byte/player for species of player

    00 - Zerg
    01 - Terran
    02 - Protoss
    03 - Independent
    04 - Neutral
    05 - User Select
    07 - Inactive
    10 - Human

Note: I haven't tried the Independent, Neutral, Inactive, or Human settings in Starcraft yet; but I would guess that those would crash StarCraft. Be warned!
Try experimenting?

DrunkenWrestler did some experimenting a while ago. I don't remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure it's not possible to make players 9-12 behave like players 1-8.

This isn't Starforge-specific, so I'm moving it to map assistance.

Yeah I did a ton of experimenting with them and decided they are just neutral players, nothing more.

I've been told that P12 triggers also affect P9-11, but I never bothered (or had a need) to confirm it. Is this true?

First I have ever heard that, I doubt it is true.

It is not. I have just made some triggers that relies on discerning between units belonging to players 12 and 11 and giving units between those players, and it works just fine.

Independent (When used for Human P1) - Appears as Zerg in the lobby. Uses Terran Briefing UI. Crashes after briefing.

Independent (When used for Computer P2) - Appears as Zerg in the lobby. Works fine. During defeat screen, race logo appears as a red box.

Neutral (When used for Human P1) - Appears as Zerg in the lobby. Uses Terran briefing UI. Crashes after briefing.

Neutral (When used for Computer P2) - Appears as Zerg in lobby. Uses redbox logo in the defeat screen.

User Selectable (When used for Player P1) - Allows the user to choose their race. Duh. Places the default Town Hall and workers (+ Overlord for Zerg) at Start Location. Removes all preplaced units for that player, except for unit-sprites. ermm.gif

User Selectable (When used for Computer P2) - Locked on "Random", user cannot select race. Effects similar to above.

Inactive (When used for Player P1) - Appears as Zerg in the lobby. Uses Terran briefing UI. Crashes after briefing.

Inactive (When used for Computer P2) - Acts as regular computer. Uses black box as defeat screen logo.

Human (When used for Player P1) - Bet you didn't see this one coming! Guess.

Appears as Zerg in the lobby. Uses Terran briefing UI. Crashes after briefing.

Human(When used for Computer P2) - Uses blue box as logo in the defeat screen.

Yeah that was fun. And Useless.

i dunno if this is true or not, it it's happened to me, but im not sure if it was the cause. if i put down p10 bunkers, it makes my game lag, ebcasue when i removed it, my game was fine. im nut sure if this appleis to all extended players?
