At SEN we have 3 catagories of sounds: Music, effects, and other. What would you say if those sounds were available to you always in your patch_rt.mpq file? Who wouldn't want to stick no sounds in their map yet strings to sounds in an MPQ file and say their map is OSF compliant. That way the only thing anyone needs to do to play that sound is have it in the proper place in the patch_rt.mpq file.
This is what I propose. Everyone considering using sounds in their map will upload their sounds to the DLDB. Everybody who wishes to use the OSF format can send me a PM signing themselves up for a ... let's say "weekly digest" of what sounds have been uploaded.
Here is the link to show you how to add sounds to the MPQ:

http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=172And here is the link to a testmap to show you it in action:
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=9999Now once you have finished this and your map has been tested and works great you can simply display some text saying your map is OSF (open sound format) compliant and the instructions to hear those sounds are found at SEN.
That is what I plan on posting. I just need to do three things from here, make and upload the test map. Upload the 2 tutorials. And make the announcement.
Can you guys look this over and give me a thumbs up before I do this? (I will post it around 3pm central if I can get the tutorials in there by then)
EDIT: Actually I'm going to edit this a little. I want to have ZIP's hosted on my site with the sounds grouped up so they can DL them quickly or they can DL them one by one at SEN. I'll add the option in my post ... just give me a few minutes to do this.
