I like reading the Redwall series written by Brian Jacques. Currently I have read Mossflower, Salamandastron, Lord Brocktree, Triss, and am currently 50 or so pages from finishing The Legend of Luke. I also started Marlfox and I will read The Bellmaker after. I also have friends who have read all the books in the series. Any of you read any of the Redwall books?

I've read all the old ones. Once you've read enough, you'll realize all the books have a reoccuring theme throughout the books. Always, the hero arrives where the trouble is, right on time. But hey, it makes it a good book. wink.gif

Yea thats pretty much the same theme, but its nice to read about their journeys and all the characters and the fun they have. It's also nice to read how they own the bad guys. I read Salamandastron first and thought that the battle was great. I remember how Urthstripe threw himself and Ferahgo off the mountain. Looking at all the settings and where they are on the map is also interesting.

I read RedWall, and another one not sure what it was called, oh it was like the Long Patrol or something..

The battle songs, were really horrible.

I hate reading songs in books.

Anyways,
I thought RedWall pwned, but.. after reading the other I figured the whole series to be alike and put it down.

Yea I just skim over most of the songs.

I read Redwall and the Legend of Luke. It is pretty detailed, especially the feasts. I thought Mossflower was a letdown though.

Want me to answer your question?
No.

Used to when I was a kid. Used to love Redwall, and I re-read it recently for kicks and still enjoyed it. It's funny seeing/reading/watching something that you used to years ago, knowing all that you do now. You start to understand things better, and see stuff like the author's style, recurring themes, value systems, etc.

Jacques sure likes his furries. wink.gif

I saw it at Barnes & Nobles once, and read about half a page.
Didn't like it much, then again half a page isn't much anyways.
But the reason I didn't give it a fair sampling was because I didn't have time to read 10 pages to see if I like it, and I have a tendency to not have money.

I've read them all, and yes they are basically the same storyline with different characters. But it is one of my favorite series. The food sounds so scrumptious, my mouth ends up watering every dinner scene. drool.gif

Read: Lord Brocktree, Mossflower, Pearls of Lutra, Bellmaker, Redwall, Legend of Luke, Long Patrol, Martin the Warrior, Salamandastron, Mattimeo

That's all I can remember.
I've read all of the series that I have because as soon as my dad gets it, I read it.

i didnt read them, or plan too. Isn't the main character a weasel or mouse or something?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kow on 2005-04-07 at 18:43:13
Mouses and 'good' creatures are the good creatures

Weasels and 'predater' creatures are the enemy people

There are also many other types of woodland creatures smile.gif
But they really behave like humans do.

During school, I asked my English teacher if she had read it, and she said that it's good, and since one of her sons had read it, she has it, so if she can find it I'll get a chance to read it.
Yay!
