I didn't know where else to put this but...

Did you ever notice that a topic never gets really hot or having a lot of ppl posting in it unless like people with a reputation in this site posts one thing.

Like I saw this one topic where there were not a lot of posts, but then like a guy like Mini Moose, Beer Keg, Yoshi, or somebody says "That's pretty kewl" or someting and all of a sudden people are going crazy with the topic goin "Yeah, that IS pretty kewl" or just "Nice..." or some spam...

If you look at a topic with 2 or more pages, you'll notice the topic got famous after a guy that's pretty famous posted...

I don't really give a darn who posts, its the actual text that matters.

What bugs me is that you actually notice this and bring it up.

Oh no chu is looking at this! Once he posts this will get famous! I forsee 2+ pages.

Lol No i mean people can be ignoring this for days, but when somebody like Yoshi da Sniper finally says: "Yeah, I noticed this too!" People will start posting here saying "Yeah, that's true" or something.

Thats because I don't bother posting in topics that look really interesting for me (I don't hang out in map making as much as I used to, not because I don't like the topics there, more because I don't have as much time to spend there and keep up).

As for "yes I agree with this", its just a forum nature that people agree or disagree with other individuals.

I guess people assume that if someone like Yoshi or Mini Moose posts in a thread, it must be a very important/interesting thread.

It's just a natural reaction. Like in real life if you see someone famous ppl start swarming them or something.

The same thing happens I think with maps ppl make. Nobody puts much attention to many people who are making maps in the forum. I know, I do this too when somebody like QPirateking says he's making another map ( I went crazy)...

Lol. I'm not saying this is bad. Actually, I think this is good because this is how people's topics stay alive. And, you have to earn your respect, but it's just someting that I noticed too much...

The peoples names who post in a topic shouldn't really affect if its popular or not. It should be about the topic and the content of the posts which are more important.

Yea' Neiji, I know where you're coming from...

But personally, if you look at Xbox gets owned, it has like 3 pages+ and I don't think anyone "famous" of this site has posted on it. The reason it got posts, was because Warhammer managed to piss off enough Xbox fans, and have enough Ps2 fans handy... yea its a blood bath in there :\

And plus, I don't hate nintendo, it's just they should have less mario games and maybe more of their good exclusives like at least an M rated Zelda or something and Zelda should have a better storyline. Save the princess. Maybe then I'll buy it...

Now guys. Be honest. If you were in my position, what would you honestly do?

This is the limit of a online community. Eventually, you really can't stop people from saying "yeah I agree". However, we did make it less inviting. You don't get a post count or minerals for posting such things like that, so it becomes less inviting. So when you see someone doing it, they're either doing it to voice their opinion, or they think they're getting minerals and a post increment because of it, which they're not.

There are times which I like to say "I agree", because repeating someone is sometimes irrelevant and I want people to know, that I agree with a statement.

We're still better off then other communities having a no post increment when that happens, so you can happily view the forums knowing that the person didn't get rewarded for such a post.

Man, there should be a system where if the post is useful, it would give you minerals... cuz ppl can say BOOGA BOOGA like 10,000 times in serious disscussion and get minerals...

No, but seriously, you guys actually did voice my opinion already...

There is a limit of 16 minerals per post. Plus, upon someone seeing your post, they will report it, and a moderator/admin will fine you 10 times what you got for posting that.

He pointed something out that's true. And it relates to the human mind and how it works, not only an interesting subject, but one that I am particularily interested in in particular.

You're acting as though pointing out the truth is actualy acting upon what is pointed out.
