Did you place the player 13 map revealer as the FIRST unit you ever placed in the map? Also, did you place the map revealer slightly off the map? If you didn't place it off the map....then I'm not really sure.

You can use SCMIE to export your units and then open up your map, delete all the units, place the speed mod, and the import your units again.

Whenever I want to try 2x or 4x with P14 units, I just delete the top-left most unit, create the P14 one, than replace the unit i deleted. At least it works for me.

That won't work for x4. Sorry to say. But top left? That doesn't even matter.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shift on 2005-04-12 at 10:44:50
1. Delete north-most unit (if multiple are equally north, the left one)
2. Create interceptor for p14 anywhere
3. Recreate the north-most unit.

and yes, I just tested this on two random unprotected maps and it worked fine.

Also "At least it works for me." like I said before

I just got a bunch of frozen units that way AND x4. Looks like it doesn't work.

lol for the third time, it works for him...
But why, post a map where it is like that.

Like what?

One map that works when you replace the top left unit with the speed enhancing unit. I'd prefer proof with multiple maps tongue.gif

Remember these are random maps not supported by me, sorry if I post yours etc.

[attachmentid=7763] --Added two ghosts at the highest section to make sure they weren't frozen (they freeze top to bottom, like everything else).

I changed ownership of 3 units that would be frozen. They don't freeze top to bottom they freeze depending on unit arrangement on the map. Units BEFORE p14 units will freeze. Units AFTER won't. Thats why you place player 14 units FIRST. You just helped me prove my point:

What are you trying to say? Changing ownership is the same as replacing them all? Anyways, the only thing I did to that map was drag a thin rectangle and delete the top units, place the interceptor, add a few ghosts, and change the ownership of most of the units (the bottom white ones work fine).

or are you trying to say that I somehow luckily deleted the first unit the maker placed on three maps?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-04-13 at 23:22:40
No you DIDN'T delete the first unit in 1 of the 3 maps. Thats what I was showing you. 3 of the units got frozen because of your method. You haven't noticed it NOT work for you yet because you haven't experienced the problem of owning units placed before the p14 unit.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shift on 2005-04-13 at 23:29:21
so which ones are you saying are frozen?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-04-13 at 23:35:30
Play the map and you'll see. Top 3 marines are frozen.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shift on 2005-04-13 at 23:49:22
I'm sorry, but... are you messing with me? The only marines on the map are the two next to the turret then the one you can select? And the ones next to the turret work fine??

No, I posted the wrong map. Sorry.

Ah I see now, they just didn't appear because they were after... that just means that I didn't delete the right one (the one on the left). Here, I started over on that one and just deleted the left one then place p14 then replaced marine and it works fine now

What people need to know here is that deleting the unit placed FIRST and placing a p14 scarab/interceptor will cause x4 speed. Not deleting a random specific unit on the map. Since editors work differently, it won't always be the top left unit in every map. Thats a bad habit for anyone to get into.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shift on 2005-04-14 at 00:26:28
Yes, true, my way is a bad habit, but if you have a map all ready done with units, etc and have no idea which is your first, this is a possibility
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-04-14 at 00:30:50
SCMToolkit tells me what unit was placed first and since I only modify my maps, I know its always Player 1 start location.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2005-04-14 at 18:37:35
Somehow learn what the FIRST unit placed was, delete it, place the speed enhancing unit, replace the FIRST unit placed.

The speed unit takes spot of the first placed unit; thus being placed before them all biggrin.gif

I'd also like to note that map revealer is approx. 1.5x, interceptor is 2x, and scarab is 4x
