I was just thinking: Everyone thinks Duran's a Xel'Naga, right? But wouldn't it be cool if he was just a human or something? Coz then it wouldn't be as predictable, because everyone on SC.org writes about Duran and the Xel'Naga being the same and I just wondered what you think...

I think that, perhaps he had been created by the Xel'Naga, the Protoss live to be, well really old. Lol, so he might have been an assistant in the Xel'Naga? Like, ugh, can't think of any examples right now...

Duran is like a robot or some thing I believe or not I don't know but I’m sure his with Xel'naga.

I really want to see Xel'naga in Sc-2 and see what Duran did to the new race.

Have you guys played that secret campaign mission? It gives a little info about Duran, I don't remember all of it but he says hes VERY old and I'm pretty sure he is Xel'Naga trying to make a hybrid toss/zerg race.

I think he's just there to moniter the Zerg/Protoss.

That's exactly what this entire conversation is about. Duran. Using what we know about him, which includes the mission that was at first secret but, as all video game secrets go, became known to just about every campaign player a few days after it was discovered.

And considering Blizzard put this mysterious 30 minute timer for no apparent reason, it's not really a very hard secret to find.

As for Duran, he might not be Xel'Naga.
He may be a different race, trying to do what the Xel'Naga could not.
In fact, the Xel'Naga seem not to be very new at this whole 'Creating Races From Scratch' thing... perhaps he's one of their old creations?
Unlikely, but still, atleast it'd surprise us all. Except me of course

Well I think Duran Isn't a Xel Naga for 2 reasons:

-He said on the secret mission that he was a powerfull "something" exploring trought space for ages...

I think he like a godness, a powerfull force who can change anything, And he also know the future as well... Man it! HE GOD!

Just because it is implied that "ALLLLLLLLL" the Xel'Naga died, doesn't mean they did, in fact I'm pretty sure in the manuel it says some manage to escape, a select few.

Besides,
Everyone thought MasterCheif was the only Spartan for the longest, then the books came, then everyone was like "OMFG THEY ALL DEAD", then yet again there was clues suggesting that some could have lived.

Now,
I haven't read the SC books, but I'm sure they'd shed some more light on it as well.

He seems to be neither of them. If he was Xel Naga, then he wouldn't have to make a hybrid race, he could just make his own. I think he is some weird being that spawns another race in SC2.

He could also just be cranky because he didn't get his coffee .

He is probally the servant of the Xel'Naga's ancient enemy, which we know nothing of

And we're just too small to see that there is a universe-scale battle going on between the Xel'Naga's rebuilt homeworld and Duran's w/e race. SG-1

He's a human, he just gone infested, then after he uses experiments to change stuff into hybrid, like protoss/zerg and for himself (Hear his voice, super dark like protoss people)

Maybe he only here for bringing mysteries to the storyline. Think of it, Maybe it,s not important since it's secret... If that was REALLY IMPORTANT why should they hide this part of Teh story?

That's just dumb... HE used Kerrigan by tricking her into that he was infested (which he wasn't)... Which is the whole freaking point of the storyline.

Duran pwned DuGalle (as well as Stukov), whoever Terran that was making the hybrid experiments, Kerrigan and Zeratul. The only "infested" hero by Kerrigan (in BW) is Razagal (though she's only under her influence).

zerg killed 2/3 of xel-naga
xel-naga came to earth to help egyptians after creating zergs

starcraft story is one of the best. (kinda the best, really)
