I need to set maximum number of upgrades to 275. The thing is, that I don't have The Xtra Editor... Is this possible? helpsmilie.gif

The highest number you can set the max upgrades to is 255. You need a special editor to do this, unless you want to do some hexing or maybe mod the data files so that SE thinks the max is 255.

You need to download SCXE. You need it for all w00t.gif

I am the ghost of modd (whoooo) download starforge (whooooooooo) I command it! It will cause your maps to ownz bnet. (Spokey voice!)

Seriously, I'm not a modd or a mod. Also you don't need to exsulusivly use SF, just use it when you need to do something like setting the upgrades to 255.
Also, I second whoever said the max upgrades is 255. The max upgrades you can have is 255, the amount of data that can be stored in a byte.

Use all 3 editors.

1. SCXE
2. Starforge
3. SCMDraft 2

If you haven't noticed, a lot of things in games work by 2's. 256 is the number, 0 signifying no upgrade present. Also the map sizes, 64, 96, 128, 256 ... all multiples of 2. Most things in SC work this way (string count, character amount, max actions/conditions in triggers). And most things in all games work this way. It's just easier to program it in like that.

Yea and nobody even likes upgrading 255 levels on maps so why would you wanna make a map (an RPG I'm assuming) with upgrades higher than 255? Be glad the programmer put a nifty cap on that so save people the pain of upgrading more than 255 levels wink.gif.

NO WAY! OMG, for some reason I can't use SCXE on my computer, that really suck. I could use it a while ago but suddenly it just stopped working. After selecting mode (special, classic, etcetra...) it says something like: Missing file: zerg-avenger. I have used sound-utility so i know that it is a sound file for the scourge but wtf would that have to do with SCXE??? Anyone had the same problem? Puh-leeeeeease help, anybody! (I know, I KNOW that I completely changed subject)

Try using SCMDraft2 or SF

ya, except Xtra is more stable and safer to use, you cant do much illegal stuff on it, except that makes it too limited.

SCMD2 is just as stable as X-tra.

That means you have a cracked Storm.dll. I had the problem when I had to use a crack. Get a new storm.dll from someone who has Starcraft updated up to the lastest patch, and copy it into your folder. Unless you're using a crack, then you're screwed >_>

The dll files are found within Broodat.mpq and I think stardat.mpq. You can just use WinMPQ to extract them.

SCMD pretty that stable... though Xtra almost never ever ever crashes, but it is much more stable than SF, like it doesnt crash the map when theres a dataoverload or something.
