XTML is the best one. Simple and easy to learn, anybody should be able to learn it quickly, though it has limitations. Java has its own niche, so it can't really compare to anything else. I find CGI to be more limited than PHP, and they both need specialized software, plus it's hard to code in. However, in terms of pure power and versatility, it's PHP.
Just my opinion, feel free to debate about it, or correct me if I'm wrong about the languages.

I think that makes it easier to make simple webpages for most people. It's not the most advance, not the most powerful, but it's popular, easy to learn, though it lacks some of the interactive content of other languages like CGI and PHP. But my point is that even an eight year old can do it!

This commands are really funny... anyways as for me the best lenguage ever is php, its hard to learn but... its one of themost versatiles lenguages and have so many features, you can do almost what ever with it... but you cant leave out HTML, without it, no leng. could be here

Never liked XTML... used to know HTML but forgot it quickly... got a little annoying *(And a few nights of heavy drinking will do that to ya

heh i read some html books some years ago, it wasnt to hard but i couldnt see any reasons for learning it back then.. maybe i should have but i didnt, i dont know mutch about the other languages so i wont vote
