Do any of you guys have smarter custom computer ai scripts that actually make the computer fight you in like normal play because I tried all scripts and all the computers do is harvest minerals and build a supply depot or whatever... huh.gif

Bajadulce and his friend made an AI. It is smart, but it gets 2000 minerals and gas every once in a while. Its not good to rely maps on it, but its good if your just going to play with a few friends who have it.

BTW, its a mod...

I know your looking for one to use in a UMS map, but i dont know of any good ones.

Also, if you use insane AI it should work... Shouldnt it?

Make sure your location is centered around the main CC ONLY.

If that's all it does then it's because it has no opponents ... but really you should wait longer. Insane AI, especially, is pretty active and has a basic attack force around 7 minutes into the game.

I thought the "race custom level" was the same thing as custom!
Or do you want something harder than that?

But I dont test it, Im only know that it made man who know how do it corectly...
But if u wanna play with this AI another man must install'em too...

30 minutes ain't long enough? Oh yeah, I don't think insane works neither but I'll retry... I'll tell you how it goes.

Well unfortunately there isn't any way to make an Ai "smarter". Ai scripts only build things and a few other features. Basically starcraft.exe's internal engine controls the "units" and building placement.

A UMS actually can be written to be much more superior and "smarter" than a complex ai script. This is because a UMS can take advantage of locations. When you use triggers along with locations, then you have many more options as opposed to letting the internal engine "think" for the Ai script. Of course these triggers and locations can only be used for this one specific UMS map.

There are a lot of different scripts available to use. Ya, the insane one takes advantage of instant cash, but I personally don't think the Insane script is the best. The standard custom expansion ones seem more complete and have better unit combinations. You will need to supplement them however by adding buildings and giving computer some extra cash if you want any kind of challenge. Of course spawning some extra units will also be a big help.

In your case, it appears you are having trouble with the mechanics of the Editor to get any ai script to work? Sounds like you have a combination of location problem and/or trigger problem? Make sure location is only over nexus, cc, hatchery.
