Im sure most of you have played Test of Terran Survival or something along that line of maps... if not then it is basically an RPG type map were you are in the middle of that map in a small undefended base and must completely destroy the surrounding enemy Insane AI computers while upgrading and taking cover in your bunker when rushes come... its pretty fun except for the version i played... It was called -Death version it was horrible... so unbalanced and bad that i decided to make a new one.. an entirely new map with the same basic idea as ToTS. The main difference is mine has upgradable units... say you train a marine.. and you want a bigger better one with more HP and better base damage... you spend 5000 bucks and move him to the upgrade zone and Bam out comes a better one (Raynor) and there are also a few secret unit in which you need to add a few combination units in there. Mine features regular massive assaults were huge amounts of units are summoned and sent to destroy you in the base as well as 4 separate Insane AI scripts and 4 Expansion AI scripts for both protoss and zerg alike. That and lets not forget mine will be BALANCED. Since im personally against "Version People" i built mine from scratch so don't go off on me about that wink.gif . I should be done with the map tonight and will post it for Beta as soon as i get it finished.

I've always been interested into ToS... Don't ask me why. I really don't know why... IT'S TRUE!! I DON'T!!!

As long as it's balanced, I'd be willing to test =). Is it basicly the very same? I mean, you need AT LEAST 2 hours to beat these maps usually. And the ones out there got extremly unbalanced "secret units" (as you said you would have), and it's bugged, etc... Oh well. I'll see then!

Well for starters the Secret units will be powerful... but not overpowering.. and in order to get them you will need to do some completely random combination of units in order to get them that will keep you guessing for a long time. As for the difficulty of 2 hours to beat, if not more.. yea it will be about that.. even with a full house this map is dishing out a lot of punishment to the players... the units maybe slightly more powerful then in ToS but the Computer is set to a Main Base AI so they will rebuild and create defence. Another difference from Most of the ToS maps is the bunkers are Not invincible... but there health is constantly healed. If by chance it gets to easy later on... i may end up taking the invincibility off later and make a beacon were it costs an amount of money to heal it... just an idea for later if it needs it.

Alright well here is the very first beta that I have made... play it and tell me what you think... *Note* it may not be totally balanced since i havent had a lot of time to test everything out.

Tell me you all think so far... and note any bugs you find.

Feedback:

Terrian: 5/10

i would have to give a 5, Its the near the same as Tos.

Bugs: 10/10

I found No bugs what so ever. Which is good

Hardness: 8.5/10

Very hard indeed, But when you have a group of 12 marines (Blood angles) and can use them correct i owned the computers. The same applys for Firebats.

Unit balacing: 8.5/10

I would have to say good job on the balacing, This is a hard job to master for some.

Overall: 9.5/10

What i think or could be improved:
  • After sevral attacks(waring attack force coming) , it starts to get easy, So maybe after a few attacks from the normal units, Make it so they spawn harder units which could be the hero types
  • !!!INPROVE!!! Needs to have more things added, Its the same as Tos.

Yea i could probably do that, although later on in the game thats when the hero enemies spawn but i guess i probably should make them sooner.. and the reason being its like ToS was that it was intended to, im sure i can add more things to make it unique and i may very well, but i basically remade the entire map so that i wasnt taking credit for someone elses work and made it balanced... unlike 99% of the ones out there. But I will try and think up some more ideas and make the waves more difficult.

#1 -- I don't like instant upgrades... Creates imbalance, in my oppnion, later in the game. You get insane damage in 0 second upgrades.

#2 -- Tazzy couldn't create any units at all...

#3 -- You can't make units, there's always a trigger reseting the building, so any unit you make gets deleted...

#4 -- Ennemies are ####ing weak... We were 2 and Zerg + Protoss were getting owned by Tazzy alone. And even worst; as you get heros and higher upgrades, ANY units comming by are 1 or 2 shot death.

#5 -- You should at least have objectives; Now all that I know is that Earth or whatever is in danger and we need to save it. How? No idea...

#6 -- You should use the kill-recreate technique for anti-lift; your #### everything up (well, I DID #### everything up xD). Tazzy couldn't make any units, I HAD to be on the beacon ALSO for him to make anything.

#7 -- Upgrade prices are ok; for the damage. I'm satisfied with that.

#8 -- First player gets all the kill.... Each waves; the top bunker get's attacked by every guys comming from the top part. Thus, he gets it all.


That's all I can think of for now...

Mmkay well ill review the map and make the nessicary changes as i see fit... if not i may just deem it a dead project... but more or less i will fix it eventually.

Oh common... Dead? I only pointed out the wrong points, cuz, well, they NEED to be pointed out. I like the map. It just need some changes (IN MY VERY OWN OPPINION). You don't have to trust me either ;P. The map was damn fine other than the points i mentionned.
