You have to create the location on the map first.

Do you know how to create a location on your map? A reason why you cant choose a location when you go to bring, is becuase exactly what chuiu said. Do you have a location created on your map.

Yeah, you need to go into the 'Location Layer' and then click somewhere and drag to create a sized location. Then, you should probably double-click it and rename it to something that fits what it is you're trying to do. Then, after you do all that, you may then go into the 'Trigger Menu' and you may then select Location and it will open another menu, which you can then select your new location from the drop-down box.

Before making maps I suggest you familiarize yourself with the standard StarEdit, finding out how to do most things, then build onto your knowledge with StarCraft X-tra Editor (More advanced form of StarEdit).

I'd suggest reading the help files as a basic starting point. That will help you to get down some basic concepts.

Well you also need to know how to do triggers (and no offense but it looks like you don't know anything about triggers). what I did make good maps was make really crappy maps that made me use all of the triggers that I already knew how to do, then tested adding more and more.

Knowing how to do things in staredit, I don't think, would make you "good". I would call you familiar with most of the tools that staredit has, but understanding all the triggers would make someone "good" at staredit. And by your question, I don't think you are good.

I agree with Lethal and Zergling.

Just keep playing with the triggers and understanding them, until you can put them all into a map. Learn basic things and keep fiddling with the different triggers. Once you understand how each action/condition works and what it is used for, and you have a basic knowledge of some trigger systems then you can combine all of them into a map. Trust me, at first just create simple maps. The more maps you make the easier it gets to create a good map, because you have experience.

When I was learning triggers, I would open maps and go through them just to see how they work.
