I've got a map about 500kb big. Unfourtuantely PROEdit freezes while trying to open a map that size. Is there another edit or compressor that could do the job?

I don't think you need to worry about compressing your map. I think your problem lies within the way your WAV files are compressed within your map. Were they all formatted with 16bit mono 8000kHz (not the best sounding, but very low in file size)

Sound is not the problem. 5000+ switches is.

Last time I checked you could only have 256 Switches... Nor would they take up 500 KB...

You can only have 256 switches. Maybe you ment triggers?

How long did you wait for PROEdit before stopping it?

I don't think a 500kb map should be a problem... I think you can open the map up in WinMPQ and press the 'Compact...' button.

PROEdit has 0 problems compressing any maps. I compressed a 5mb map before for testing purposes. Did you personally remove (listfile)? Or do you know nothing about MPQ archives?

Its 500kb due to the wavs.

If the size is really causing the proedit problem, then remove the wavs with winmpq, use proedit, then add the wavs back in.

Ok first of all, I think I already mention sound isn't why it's 500 kb. It's 500 kb because of 5000+ triggers. I'm trying to open it with PROEdit and pro just freezes. And I'm not well aquainted with MPQ.

Send me the map, let me try to compress it.

I really doubt its that large cause of the triggers. And i really doubt you have 5000

You're not even going to let me take a look? I'm not going to "steal" your map or anything like that if thats what you're worried about.

Ok, I'm really getting irratated with these  censored.gif ing comments. I'm SAYING it's 500kb. I'm SAYING sound only takes up 30kb. And finnally, I'm  censored.gif ING SAYING there's 5000+ triggers. I'm tired of some of the  censored.gif ing little 14 y/o idiots thinking they're all big pros and questioning me. I'm SAYING I start up PROEdit, attempt to open a map, PROEdit freezes. Now, I'm using latest PROEdit,(1.4.2 black backround). I'm not very familiar with MPQ because I never had the problem like this one. So, id there's anyone that can help, please do. Thank you.
