Diplomacy: Art Of War is releases today and staredit.net gets it first. A map created by P²: Pimpz Prodcutionz, it defines a new style of Diplomacy. Started by GgG-Criminal, and with the help of people including Fenix'01, Soviet_Gladius, Selfism, GgG-Chaos, and myself, GgG-M.K.Russ., we finally created a Diplo of all Diplos.

This map is similar to Blood and Iron in many ways. You cannot be
retarded and play it.
In the top left corner you have 4 sections:

1)Country Select: There are 12 countries to choose from. They all can be used effectively with the proper strategy.

2)Alliance System: Thanks to Fenix'01, and his contribution to the alliance system. You cannot backstab.

3)Technology: Countries do not have specials, but instead a universal tech system. Build probes ($7500) at your capital to make tech points. You can use it to upgrade a weapon type (some cost 2 tech points).

4)Conquering: All production buildings are part of a city. Different cities contain different types of production buildings. You must kill all enemy resistance in the city and bring 10 men to conquer it.

Opinions about the map are strongly encouraged. Only request is play the map first, then give your 2 cents.

FYI, your trigger section ... uncompressed ... is 50mb. It's compressed to the max. What could you possibly be doing in that map that requires 5000+ triggers?

Also be aware that it's not completely balanced yet. I'm doing jack shit to help this but I am testing it a lot with criminal (For instance with Blue or France templars make muskets instead of medics (when researched)).
Also Criminal thought yesterday since we seem to make money very quickly, that the prices for the units are too low. He's fixing all of this.

Diplomacy: AoW v.3 Released.

This version fixed all bugs found in the previous version as well as balance units and fixes prices. No bugs are found. Next version will have more improvements but most likely will not be released as soon as the first ones.

Of course we did. With 6 players and like 25+ cities, as well as other triggers, there are alot combos that are done. Starting war, cease fire ,allyance. This is between each player. Etc. It adds up.

Most of his "triggering" is some sort of protection method that isn't stopping me. In fact, this "protection method" uses up more than 90% of the trigger space. And the trigger space uses up more than 90% of his map.

This useless trigger was copied 9045 times.
Each trigger took up 2400 bytes.

This map could have easily been about 30-50 kb.

I've seen this terrain before in a diplo map. This EXACT terrain.

I compared the attachment from Deathknight to an old diplo in my maps folder. They're 99% the same.

EDIT: It could be a coincidence I suppose, If they're using the same reference maps.

Well most diplos have similiar terrain and this isn't his first Diplo to my knowledge. Diplo makes can take alot of triggers and I doubt he would have enough strings to copy a worthless "protection" trigger that many times. Sounds like a bit too much work to protect maps with protection triggers... might as well just use ProEdit and Ubernation and hope for the best cool1.gif .

You can use the same string to make that trigger an infinite number of times.

This stops now. This is map showcase, not noob flame inivite.
1) I NEVER said I created the terrain, Deathawk. The terrain of the diplomacy is exactly the same beause the map is created by GgG-Criminal, the same one who created Diplo 7-Series.
2) The protection doesn't work in the proccess Deathknight states it does. After compressing the map, and before protecting, I took a look at the size of it, you are obviusly wrong.
3) I don't give 2 s----s about your 2 cents on how to protect the map. Protection of the map has nothing to do with aspects of the map. With that size, the map does not lag nor drop people, therefore not an aspect.
4) Deathnight, you're already blocked from my email contacts for your noob flaming. Stop doing it here. You responding to this message and claiming otherwise is just proof that are infact an imature noob who can't get over a message typed from some nobody from nowhere. I don't know you, nor do I want to know you. Drop it.
5) If you dislike the map, I feel sorry for you. If you like the map, thank you.

Just out of curiosity, what are people talking about with the 50MB thing... the map's only 456 KB, which isn't that bad.

It's not you I'm mad at. I don't want it to feel like it is. GgG-Criminal is the official creator of the map. From terrain, to cities, to the triggers. It's GgG-Criminal. I'm the de-bugger, improvement guy. I pitch ideas to him, and improve the playing comfort aspect. For v4, I'm pretty much doing it.
As for the size, BNI takes up about 300kb. Our map, AoW, has all aspects of BNI, as well as 12 countries isntead of the manditory 6 in BNI, abilty to research and upgrade, more complex alliance systems, etc. Sounds don't really take up much, so from the original map, compression of comments, never triggers, etc. didn't do much. But thank you for understanding.

stealing the terrain is as bad as stealing the whole map...

terrain takes a while to do.. make your own..

The creator of the map, GgG-Criminal made the terrain for both maps. So, I guess he's "stealing" from... himself. crazy.gif
