Nice map, seems to be very symetrical! You should post a screenshot too.

Holy....
Thats awesome! I dont see any unbalences. I mean, of course there are air/ground advantages, but without them, itd be a money map. Man, i love this map. Great Job!

ADDITION:
I could just imagine a big battle.... Like, everyne fighting over the middle, atacks, yadada.... i love this map...

Why are you bowing down to it? Because it looks good?
What the hell do you mean by,

This make zero sense to me.

I dislike the mineral setup. You did a poor job on mineral/gas placement on this map.
There is no need for so many doodads (they are blocking bridge anyway).

Oddangel, it seems like you went for just symmetry, cool little thin walls, and scattered expansions. You should worry less about beauty and more about balance/gameplay.

I went for gameplay tongue.gif
The skinny walls stop units from going on it and shooting down at the expansions.
The Doodads dont block the bridges...
there are some parts on the cliffs that you can land on.

How is the mineral placement bad? Explain?

I would hate to be moving my goons through that mess... This map is too Terran oriented, it's too easy for them to just destroy the natural with tanks and a rax. No one wants to go to a 3 mineral expansion which they'll spend so much more defending, unless those arent 1500 patches. Clearly you were going for beauty if your first version has tottally worthless thin platform inbetween bases, there's nothing too bad about it but that doesn't enhance gameplay at all; not too mention the only time players will see it is when flying to harass the enemy.

I'm not sure but if Protoss do a Zealot rush it's probably over for Terran, as the bases are pretty close and there's no way to wall.

As for what people having been saying about symmetry, it's all fine and dandy if you want a symmetrical map but they're clearly the easiest to make, just make a fourth of the map and you know what the rest looks like.

This map is definately a map for terrans. With all those thin walls everywhere, people could just park tanks right behind em and blast away opponents.

But cool designs

this map is far too cluttered. You need to open everything up, otherwise unit movement will become a pain.

I suggest you remove the islands then push the mains back into the corner. You have far too many expansions on this anyway. Once you've done that, you can rearrange the middle to be more spacious.

You should also consider removing those doodads in front of the bridges. Although they don't block them, they hinder unit movement even more than the thin paths already do. Just imagine moving a 40 unit army from one side of the map to another. If it's difficult to do, then your map layout is flawed.

Im a terran player so i cant help building for terran lol... blushing.gif
If no one reads the first pot the thin walls are to stop people from going on top of them...

wesmic,
Yenku is always mean ive never seen him act nice...

If you park tanks behind the thin walls just blow up the terran vision of your units. It's a fine map to me ---- at least better than most I see. Perhaps a little too cluttered but still I like it.

The middle area is extremely valuable to any player and it's very accesible to all players which is good.

Looks like a concept map out of LT. You got your main base and a really close expansion and you have another expansion in your area. You have an island for each player too.

It's pretty balanced didn't find any imbalances except for ptutting tanks on those small 2x2 cliffs surrounding the main base. Just put 1~2 tanks in each of them and your enemy ahs nothing left.
Also the fact that it's cluttered is bad. Most of your buildings will be in your square because there is nothing left to go to except an island and the middle.

Just what I was TRYING to say. (sometimes i dont explain myself well)
Yea, the symmetry isnt aproblem, I actually like it in Space maps.
The mineral setup is not efficient, there arent enough either. Look at a pro map for good mineral placements.

looks like my harshness has rubbed off

It's hard to say who this map favors because no one would be able to move any units through it.

Hey guys, I apologize if my above posts seem rude. I usually try to be nice and give tips, I wasnt trying to sound rude. Its just that conversations can come off much harsher than they really are.
