I think blue will be easier at defending the ramp.

i do agree, but in LT one of the ramps are shaped just like that, if it caused that big of a problem nobody would play LT as much as they do.

First of all, this is a huge improvement in both the minerals and the general design from your other maps! smile.gif

I don't know which map you got the minerals from, but it's certainly better than what you had before. I prefer more lt-style minerals, but it doesn't really matter.

Before I comment, this isn't intended for 1:1, is it?

Cool, but im not sure all 6 players are balanced equally...

Teal and Orange players would have the safest expansion sites. Green and blue have expo sites pretty far away. Red and Purple also have close expo sites, but Orange and Teal could just place defenses along their cliff edges and destroy anything that tries to build stuff in those sites.

Red and Purple's "corridor" or main pathway can easily be guarded from atop the cliffs by the other players. And they also have no free air access (that is if u're playing with full house).

And blue and green also have easy access to mineral expos in middle of map

But other than that, design is pretty cool : smile.gif

its for 3v3's

and actually i ddint get the minerals from any map.. i just figured that looked good so i used it.

If it's for 3v3s, then i probably would suggest opening up the middle of the map.

With team games, teams will have bigger armies and it'd be an extremely tight squeeze to get all ur men through on just one of the two bridges connecting the top and bottom portions of the map.

But that's just my uneducated assumption (because u probably did this on purpose). I'd leave this up to some other "pro" melee map commentators.

Well, I don't know anything about 3v3s, so I can't critique. I do know that 9:00 can't really be cliffed while 3:00 can.

Think i should fix that?
(If you think i should then i will...)

It's really up to you. It's your map, u probably know what's best for it.

but i personally would say yes

The map is updated, everyone look at the updated one. Player 6 can no longer be money-tanked.

ADDITION:
Anything else major i should fix??

Wow, so many posts in soo little time.
This map is very unbalanced.
I like the mineral placement more than your others...
But still, there are so many differences between the players and stuff.
Maybe you should give a weeks rest and look at other melee maps that come in and learn some balancing tips.

I've never learned anything about balancing from looking at maps... i need a balancing tutorial...

Hehe, I have to admit that just the other day I thought of creating a map similar to this one, with the starting positions in that order. biggrin.gif

It looks good and you must have worked on it alot, but unfortunately there are some balance issues, and you might want to consider fixing it up.

The map is just too tank-friendly, meaning that nearly every expo and every main can be hit by siege tanks. Also, the paths that lead to red and purple can be sieged very easily by the other players, they just have to place a few tanks on the cliffs and gg.

There aren't that many paths to move from one place to another, especially when you want to move from the top area to the bottom. The map could use some more room for troops to move with ease.

And probably too many geysers, you could have main and nat expo with gas, and a mineral only for each player.

I would definately fix up this map so Terran and their pain-in-the-ass siege tanks ranting.gif wouldn't have such an easy time. Mains shouldn't be so easy to siege. Good effort though, it's nice to see others making 6-player maps. I know how hard it is to make a map for 3v3, especially on 128x128 size (all 3v3's should be made on this size). I've made around 20 3v3 maps, so if you want I could give you some tips and help you with this one.

Does anybody here besides me see how unbalanced this is?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-04-26 at 19:18:29
he said it wasn't for 1:1, and I hate to insult the guy after such of a huge improvement
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yenku on 2005-04-26 at 19:26:00
Ahhh, your right. Im sorry if that was offensive. It wasnt intended.
It is much better than your other maps. It just has some flaws that need to be worked out.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by 007Torrasque on 2005-04-28 at 17:29:14
THis is a nice map, but the only problem i see is the ways to get across.

Especially with this being 3v3, if two people were terran and one was protoss, this wouild be an easy blockade. Terran can bunker and seige tank, which will force your ground units to go across, but the tanks could be behind a wall of photon cannons...

gG?

otherwise this is an Excellent map, i especially like 3v3 maps smile.gif

the only time people really do that is in money maps...
