I'm more of a UMS mapper, but I have some exp with Arredit. Its extremely buggy and advanced... what are you trying to do? There may be an alternative.

You should use Arsenal III. Much easier to use and has a better interface then ArrEdit.

i am not trying to do any one thing in particular, i just want to know how to use it, just the basics. i also think it is VERY cool that you can change all those things in the lists and all. i like making maps a lot, so i like to know how to use every utility i can, however remotely.

EDIT: where can i get arsenal 3?

campaigncreations.org

I wouldn't call it the basics though.

yeah, i didnt mean the basics of map-making in general, i meant the basics of programs in general. i want to get an idea of how to ever use it in case it comes in handy

You can find it here http://www.smempire.org/downloads.php?dlid=2. I also want to say that any changes using these programs cannot be applied to just one map, but applies to the entire game itself.

If you want to get into modding you could start with this tutorial.

Bah I don't use them tongue.gif. I make mods that actually work on B.net.

there not actually mods.. more like rarely seen mapping techniques.

What do you mean... mapping techniques? How is changing your whole Ally menu so you can unally and unvision yourself(randomly) a mapping technique?
