I think he said something about not working on extra features until the final release and until then hes going to work mainly/completely on fixing bugs

Looks like your posting here too since BF is down Carl.

But on topic, I haven't been downloading the past versions since 4 I think. I'll just wait till the final. The only time I work on things I don't want a possibly buggy editor.

Can someone tell me if the size of the terrian pallete has been increased so I can actually see what tiles I'm selecting?

There are still some annoying things about SCMDraft:

1. Pressing 'Shift' and holding while editing fog of war doesn't effect all players (it did in the original Staredit, and mostly when editing FoW you want to make it the same for all players...)

2. That 'select profile' thingie in the beggining is rather pointless... is there a way to get rid of it? The old SCMDraft didn't had it...

3. My favorite feature about the old SCMDraft was the the 'subtile' type terrain, you could change isometric huge parts of the map into the same tile type (very useful for installation walls and badland structure) but subtile in this version doesn't seem to do that. Infact it has no effect in this version.

1: I'm not sure if I enabled shift for fog of war in #8, I know I have ctrl to do that. (staredit has both)

2: For people working with mods it is useful, I am adding a way to make a shortcut which sets the default profile with a command line option

3: To use subtile hit ctrl and select a tile on the map, this will then display the variations of the selected tile, or hit shift to force updating all tiles (I believe I posted this in the scmdraft forum somewhere)

the prereleases always have less and less bugs so if you dont want something buggy you should update.
#7 added the ability to resize terrain palette to full sized tiles

another update....
biggrin.gif goodie!
I can't believe I noticed less than like 1/10 of the bugs that have been fixed.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2005-04-28 at 04:45:08
well most of the bugs were minor things that only occured with the right combination of options set, and since there are so many options wink.gif

When will ever the triggers come out? Even if it's buggy. I hate using 2 editors at once, scmdraft and xtra. starforge is hard with triggers.

I know how to use it... it's just that it doesn't work right.
Try it yourself, you'll see, on the much older version you just chose a global tile type and it converted every tile anywhere to it, but in this version it only convert double tiles and by this forces you to make the terrain group levels one by one (which is pointless since the whole idea of it is to speed up terrain-type matching).

Starforge triggers and Xtra triggers are exactly the same, the only difference is that you also see SF triggers in their C++ form without all the yada-yada connectors so that actually you can write and read triggers faster.
SCMDraft already has triggers, but there you do have all of that yada-yada what makes them a little more complicated (mainly because you need to type everything along... take so much time ><)

hold shift down while placing that will as I said override the same tilegroup filter.

um, scmdraft has had a trigger editor for all prereleases of 0.5.5 and also in 0.4.x, it may not be very easy to use but it does exist.
