Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Upgrade Amounts

Sorry if anyone already asked this but I did do a considerable amount of looking before posting. pinch.gif

How do you make it so that when you do an upgrade, it adds more damage or defense to the unit than normal.

Example: I have a regular Terran Marine and I go to my Engineering Bay and upgrade his weapon. I go and look, and this has only added +1 to his attack. So basically the most damage you could ever do from upgrades would be +255 What if I want it to add, say, +5 for every upgrade? I couldn't figure out how to do this...

I believe the Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction RPG map uses this function. I can post it if anyone wants to look (I couldn't open it and check to see what he did, I think the map is protected).

If someone could let me know that'd be great. Thanks! biggrin.gif

Change the bonus of the unit. If the bonus it 3 then every upgrade it will add 3 damage.

Oh wow is that what the bonus is for... I never knew that.

Okay thanks!

Geeze do I feel like a noob.

tongue.gif just to clear up one thing though: Units that attack 2 in 1 (i.e. Firebat, Zealot, Goliath, Wraith, etc) will always have bonus multiples of 2. So if for firebat bonus you put 2, you the upgrade will add 4.

And you can't change the increase in armor. That's fixed at 1.

I was going to ask about how do you add more to armor so that each time you up you'd get more than 1 point.

Btw, i saw a map where the firebat, zealot, golaith, wraith didn't multiply by its attack bonus. It just increased by an addtional 4 and not any other multiples. So how do you set the bonus so it doesn't multiply? Do/Can you use fractions?

If you put 1 then it will upgrade 1 for each upgrade. Put in 2 and it upgrades 2 per upgrade etc. I am pretty sure it applies to all units.

you're not getting the point.
Zealot attack upgrade patterns (bonus set to 4):
No ups=27
1 up=31
2 up=35
3 up=38
4 up=42

but the max hit will multiply the damage by 2 because the zealot's have a max hit of 2.

So the zealot attack would look like this:
No ups=27
1 up=35
2 up=51
3 up=83
4 up= 124

oh and are you sure that you can set 2 on armor so that each upgrade will add 2 instead of 1?

only modding I think, you can change the armor.
But one armor is good enough.

Well what modding program do you use for that?
I want to set large unit armor to increase my more than 1x.
Preferably 2x or 3x.

This is a map making site. If you want to learn how to do mods I suggest you search google.

I'm not even sure if you can edit armor...
I suggest you go look at stormcoast's modding tutorial
