What's the location size for a minimap ping?

A minimap ping is always the same. It just pings at the center of the location, the size would be maybe for other triggers?

I think he wants to know how big the minimap ping is. Of course, it would vary with map dimensions...I'd recommend taking a screenshot of the ping and then looking at is size, then multiplying by 4096 / map size.

Out of curiosity, what the hell would you use it for? lol.

I was messing around with the ally minimap ping (alt-left click), and it gave me an idea..

I'm trying to make a letter in the minimap using pings, and i want the pings to be evenly distributed, i dont want them to overlap each other, just side by side..

Actually, that's pretty clever right there, make games like HangMan that way happy.gif

During testing, based on a 128x128 map size, the minimap ping size is either 17x17 or 18x18..

Are you sure? And if a person pings, it doesn't effect triggers... only the trigger ping which is plain green.

The ping happens in the begining of the game, and usually ppl dont start pinging until after a while of game-play..

And if they were to actually care to do it in the begining of the game just to try to mess it up (idk why, sounds like a dumb idea), but the difference in color of the pings, should make the letter still visible..

Yea, green pings from allies, yellow pings from others. Or at least allies on team melees... probably shows up yellow to normal allies.

I was pretty sure that you can only minimap ping to people you are allied to, and it shows up for them as yellow regardless of their stance towards you. It shows up as green for the person who sent the ping.
Green pings are also used for triggers and for in-game pings (e.g. unit training complete). Red pings are used in-game to indicate where you're being attacked, I think.

Green pings are yours. So when a trigger event happens, it makes a ping for you. And when you ping, it shows your ping on the minimap as green.

Yellow is for allied people. And red is for alerts like when you're under attack somewhere.

You can make a ping by a location 1x1, obvious...

Can you not read why he wanted it?
