I downloaded the osf importer and tried to get it to work, but i had no success. I did exactly what it said to do, but it still didn't work for me. Can someone please tell me the exact steps to correctly use the osf importer? thanks.

The OSF project was cancelled. I don't think OSF will ever work for a large group of people...

There wasn't enough people really showing interest in it. And I never really supported that program. If I ever try to revive OSF I will make it go per map so you would just download the sounds needed for maps. I think this would encourage people to make maps for OSF rather than take sounds in the DLDB and use them in their map.

OSF was too complicated for me to get correct

but i heard that osf sounds won't drastically increase the size of your map like .wavs so thats why i really wanted to use osf instead of .wavs but o well, thanks guys.

It won't increase the map size at all. But the thing is, other people playing the map need to do the same thing to their MPQ for them to hear the sounds.

I actualy think that the OSF formater is good for some theme music that you dont really need to hear... Such as background music... It would decrease the map size and you wouldn't need to hear it if you dont want.

Yes, thank you. That's exactly one of the points I wanted to get through with OSF. But the general public can't really comprehend that.

This project would have been good. If only other people DIDN'T have to do all the steps. It was too complicated for me. So i never even gave it a chance.

Well I was going to release the updater program which took it all the way down to 3 steps for importing sounds to the mpq. They were "open the program", "select the sounds you want in the mpq", and "download the sounds and watch the program automatically add them".
