On my map, The Dark Hour of SWAT... I was thinking like the Matrix, is there a trigger or something that can make a slow game?

get someone with a 56k in the game.

Umm, not slow the whole game. And if one of you people are thinking about the burrowed zerg ground unit trick, well I need it to do with all units that walks...

? So if you know about the slowing unit tricks then why don't you use it.
One that I recently found that might work better is.
Step 1: You exstract scarabs from revers
Step 2: You disable the scarabs
Step 3: Always move scarabs to the players location

When a unit is walking through scarabs, it walks really slow. I don't think anyone knows about this trick yet. But I'm probably wrong.

Well I didn't know about it before you mentioned it... thanks for the tip biggrin.gif .

It does that with any unit. Put a burrowed zergling and Hypertrigger it under a unit. Look in the tutorials.

His problem is that he has lots of units at once and probably some are the same unit so then the center location will mess up.

You basically lag the game by spawning a bunch of burrowed Zerglings and ordering them to move to a specific spot. Then you remove them when they reach that spot. I haven't played that game but I'm pretty sure this is what you are looking for.

Unfortunately when that happens, it becomes very difficult to select any unit or order it to do anything, you might be able to get away with using a building like a gateway as a menu to do stuff or something, but thats just about it.

Lag will really mess up the game, it will show a popup and a list of people who lags, waste of time. Zerg Ground units burrowed slowing the walking people... how can I do that for everybody in the map? And Scarabs, I don't know if that works but somehow why a scarab? It doesn't look like it will slow down the game for 5 seconds.

Try creating like 9999 units in the 'Anywhere' location with burrowed properties. Then remove them and continue the cycle until you want slow motion to end. (Although you might get placement errors)

Another variation of this is to have a focal point location which you will create the exact amount of burrowed units to fill up the location and wherever in that locations range, slow motion will occur.

If you spawn any amount of unit with "Burrow" checked (they have to be able to burrow of course), they will spawn burrowed. Sometimes if you only spawn one they wont; but I havn't tested much.

Dude the map only allows 1700 units per map. It says that I can't create any more units.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2005-05-04 at 10:40:07
So I can't make 9999 units if 1700 is the limit per map... DUH!

Laging the entire map to make it go slower is dumb.

it's easy, for ground units put a location over water, then every second, move all ground units to that location, they'll pause for a minute then continue their path. Depending on how fast you move the units to that location is how slow they'll move, you can even freeze them. for air units place a bunch of intransit buildings at the loacation, so since the air units can't be moved there the same thing happens.

You can make it so the map only works if it's played on slowest speed.
As far as I know, to detect speed use a countdown timer, and the elapsed game time = x seconds triggers.
Elapsed game time = real time. Countdown timer = modified by the game speed.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sniper on 2005-05-04 at 22:25:03
but that would lag the WHOLE game
Report, edit, etc...Posted by scwizard on 2005-05-04 at 22:43:52
That's what he wanted to do... Right?
If you want to lag a few units, move burrowed units under them, or use my scarab idea.
If you want to lag the whole game, make it so it can only be played on slowest.

Cough Cough *

If the game speed is on slowest that does NOT mean the game lags.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2005-05-05 at 09:53:51
....Here's a couple reasons why this post is here:

No Lag or we would wait super long...

I have to order around the unit, not while its being teleported to the water.

Unit under the censored.gif ing guy won't work, it has to do with all zombies, cars and charactors.

The Scarabs won't be near the guy for long, and it don't look right in the city.
And Scarabs are used as grenades.

Lag will mess up the game badly, showing a list of players too... possibilities that can't drop.

The matrix speed in this game is temproarily (sry 4 mispell) and NOT FOREVER.

The countdown timer is the clock, not the matrix part.

If I put ground burrowed, it will censored.gif up the firing and healing system crap.

Did you see my idea?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2005-05-05 at 10:28:15
Good job, but thats only zombies... and yet I found a bug, if yer not near the drones, they move fast. But they're not too slow like the matrix.
