hey, but what colors are 145 and 255? and what is a sprite?
255 always crashed for me. Sprites are just images from the game files. Basically.
But i dont have those colors because i only use the ones from X-tra editor and theve always worked. I dont have illegals units or buildings, and i dont have sprites, etc. I still don't understand why it won't work. Can u stil help me?

Post the map if you have no clue what is wrong with it. All of the reasons should be listed in that tutorial... Double check everything that you know.
Did you delete any sounds? Place any unused units? Accidentally place a color thingy that shouldn't be there (a crash byte)?
No sounds and xtra colors, but how do i post the map on here?
Maybe if you pos the map, or go into more detail about what is in your map we could help you. I had a problem with crashing for like 2 weeks. Then I realized the only reaons the map crashed was because I had a location placed off of the map. Look for a unit,building, or location placed off of the map.

Well, when you add a reply, you can the attachemnt in there. What you do is, right before the button to add rply/topic there is a browse and Add this attachment button. Click on Browse and find the map you want to post. Then Click on it. Once you see the file name in the bar. Click on "Add this Attachment. Once it is added to the post, click "Add into post" where you see the file name. Then it is posted.

Well I don't see anything wrong with it... Do you just use the normal text color codes or do you use something else?
I use the normal colors that come with xtra editor. Please look more, but for now i have to go, bye.

Maybe a unit is half on the map/off it crashing it? I dunno I didn't get a chance to download and look at it but its just a possibility that came to mind.
You know the bottom part that is used for the screen to fit on the map (the last row of the map on the bottom that is unusable) some units are on that. Would that be the same as being off the map?
As chu said, it's probably some building that got placed too close the map's edge. A pretty common occurence. I'll check out the map and tell you if I find anything else, though.
EDIT- Yep, I was right. I played it after removing a bunch of buildings and stuff that were around the edges, and it got past the briefing with only a few unplacable errors.

Hah, I haven't even posted in this thread and Tux knows im going to be here pointing out the problem.

It's the pylon on the top right of the map. That is the only unit crashing the map because it's a little outside the map. Special editors like X-tra will let you place those units but it won't check to see if they are out of the map. Just remove it and place it closer to the cannon.

I can't figure out where the unplacable units are or why when, in the first level, the test doesn't shoe up when i want it to like when they create and send an attack or when u get to the ship. Here look through the edited version.
Get the numbers associated with the unit and divide them by 32. Those are the X/Y coordinates on the map they are located.
but is there a way to find out what number the unit is, w/o deleting and reputting the unit down?

In StarForge you can click them and press the *Up* arrow a few times untill it isn't touching the bottom, then you can redo the terrain a wee bit.
I don't know if you have figured this out yet, but... The goliath at the very bottom left hand side will show up in SC xtra, but when you go to play it starcraft will not be able to place it. This is something unusual I have noticed. You can order air units to this location, but you can not pre place any units here. If you move the goliath up a bit, or better yet, delete it and place it somewhere else, that will take care of half of your problems. To solve the other half of your problems, move lurker by the BC and kerrigan in Senario 9 a little bit to the right. Or, use this version (which has the above changes):
