If you have it able to skip, someone might be reading it because they don't know whats going on.
Also with the string count, it would be the same because your doing -X amount briefing strings, +X amount trigger strings. So in game would be good.
All you would have to do is just give a quick explanation.
If you read his post (which I just skimmed

), I think he was saying he wants to make sure no one misses the briefing because sometimes you press "Start" or something and you miss it.

Some people do, even though it is a new game they have never played, then if its setup like this, they'll be like "Wtf? what is this?"
So if you make it so you
have to read it, then no one will get confused.
Just put a little tiny instruction thing that lasts no more than approx. 45 seconds; maybe 1 minute.
