New game coming out, set in "The Zone", the Nuclear Fallout zone of the Chernobyl Reactor.

This game is incredibly realistic, and unrealistic at the same time. I'll explain a lot of it in here.

You are a STALKER. Someone who goes through "The Zone" looking for artifacts, ect. to sell. It's an RPG, unlike any other. Instead of "Oh, I killed six monsters, now I get a level up, wheee!", you never level at all. Your skills are based on you. Now, let's see, where do I begin?

This game is built on the X-Ray engine, a new Engine that includes small areas with a multiloading system so you almost never have to see a loading screen again. Uses a Skeletal Animation system with slow motion capture to make everything look super realistic. Has a Day/Night system. Just a little bit I'm explaining here.

As you travel throughout "The Zone", you can find many things. Soldiers, other STALKERS, mutants, and even Anamoly Zones. These parts of "The Zone" move around and can cause an array of things to you, like crush you, light you on fire, completely scorch you, or even release a super shock that could kill you instantly. These areas have unique detection methods, varying from looking at it to throwing things in it.

You have a lot of weapons, pistols, shotguns, machine guns, knives. They are almost all upgradable, ranging from putting on a silencer, to a scope, to a grenade launcher. Weapons must be kept in condition, and can break down without proper care.

You can also get many vehicles, cars, trucks. And you can make some nasty effects running over people.

There's a few things you should know about this too. Like a real person, you have to eat, and sleep. If you don't, you can die of starvation, or faint. If you are out of food, don't worry. You can kill birds and stuff and eat them. Mostly raw though. When you are shot, there's no super red triangle on the side of your screen showing where you were hit from. Instead, and can vary from having your vision double, you walk slower, get really weak, hands become shaky, ect.

Monsters and enemies will attack each other. You can have two mutants duking it out, or two or more STALKERS too. There's even clans of STALKERS that can go after anyone. Certain groups also have "Controllers" you command everything with PSI powers. They can even take over people from different factions, and even you.

Equipment will vary from bandages to protective suits, but you can only carry 40 KG of it including weapons. These are also incredibly realistic. You can tear your suit, or be shot while in it and be more suspectible to radiation damage, ect.

When you use a sniper rifle, the scope moves around like normal. But if you are severly wounded, it will shake more, and it will get worse if you are drunk.

There's no "OMG USE A MEDKIT AND I'M SOME HOW MAGICLY HEALED!". Medkits will help you regain health, but only by sleeping and eating. YOu can't just slap on a band-aid and keep going. I'm pretty sure if you have no bandages, that you can also bleed to death.

There's planned to be at least eight different endings, depending on how you play.

The AI on this game are incredibly realsitic, having a "Morale/Honour System". If they know your outnumbered, they'll stick with it. If there's no way they can win, they might do a nice death charge, or just run away. If you are getting chased by a Mutant, then sometimes they will see another, more interesting enemy, or something else interesting, and leave you alone.

You can crouch in the grass to hide yourself and steady you aim, ect.

There's a really good stealth system in this game. Normal people you might be able to sneak up behind and give them a knife to the back. but for those mutants with eyes in the back of their heads, or a sixth sense.......

This game's textures and buildings are realistic, being created from photographs, and blueprints from the actual zone. People who used to work in Chernobyl have had feelings of Deja-Vu while playing the game...

Mutants will, reproduce, for lack of a better word, and migrate to different areas. One day you might be facing Mutants who will go down in one shot, next day, maybe ones that can eat you whole and need a couple rockets too the face...

You can buy new weapons, cars, ect. from traders. You must also keep fuel in the cars, as well as protective coverings for different parts of the zone.

Mutants can range from people who can crontrol you, to blind dogs with a sixth sense.

This looks awesome.

I hardly play many new games usualy old ones that are a few years old (ex Starcraft) so I don't have a high standards for graphics tongue.gif

I have no standards for graphics. I still love classics such as X-Wing and TIE Fighter, and also the multiplayer online space-combat sim X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter.
