Well, I am in a bit of a dilemma here... My map is a medieval based time. And I think Gold is a little too cliche. So.... I was wondering id anyone else on here had better names? (Nothing like Gil, Gold, Silver, etc...)
Good question...
I would just do:
Mission breifing: Minerals = cash on hand, Gas = something else
Then next to every buy this beacon, you have a mineral patch named price.
Who says the person needs to know the name of the currency in the land.
lol... Good point... But, I want it to be something a little different. And I would prefer to have a name for the currency.
bread, sugar, and chocolate - wasn't it currency back then?
Coins uh... chips?
war3 has wood. And what about coins. just coins. OR PESOS!

Use Pants. Well, in actuallity alot of places used trading as opposed to a consistent currency for awhile. Of course, thats too inconsistent for a money system... Uh.. call them... "Ones".
Please ignore this post while I be silly.

How are those ideas?
P.S. No One has immagination.....

I agree.

Well... I have plenty of imagination... Just not at making up names for money.

use a prety basic name no one has stated that was actualy used and most things are called this back then
Steel
Do what I do... take a word and remove a letter from it.
Example: Celsius (remove 'u') becomes Celsis (this is the one I use so don't take it!

)
That's a great idea... Why didn't I think of that? Oh, wait, that's right... I am not always good like that!
I'll try that!
The way I make up words is I take parts from words I look at and combine them together. Just pick up a book flip to a random page, look at a word and remember the first three letters or so, than flip to another page and finish it or add on again. It usually gets some pretty good names for things.
How about Canadias

Salt was a bit expensive that days, hehe.
Just a list of what could be as currency
- Coins
- Rupees (Zelda style)
- Dollars
- Gils
- Gold
- Silver
- Points
- Mynt (Sweden for coin)
- Nachos
- Stars
- Crowns
- Pesetas
- Drachmer
- Lire
- Euro
=D
How about: Lavias, or Mavias, mix words together.
Verridian sounds pretty could me thinks...
"that's a 100 Verridian"
I use "Bel". Short, simple, effective. Feel free to use it.
I will use... COOKIES. Or... "Moneys".

"Cors"
Tyre(s)
Tithe(s)

Forn is good. I'm thinking about stealing it for my RPG.

Tyion is good to. Hmmm so many to chose from.
