Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> How to change the damage of nukes?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Starcraftmazter on 2005-05-04 at 07:53:16
Is there any way to make nukes more powerful? Besides lowering the HPs of everything else confused.gif

Specifically, want to destroy 3 millitary targets (bunch of starports, bunch of power generators, bunch of science facilities) with one nuke for each bunch.

Any way to make the damage more?

I don't think so.

Take a look at this tutorial:

No. Try getting around your problem with triggers. You can detect the location of a nuke on the map. If the buildings are always in the same spot you can place locations around them and whenever players bring a nuke to that location then you can wait a little (for the explosion) and then destroy them.

Or, when the nuke enters the location, you could set the HP on the buildings shuch that the nuke would kill them on impact, if you dont want to fiddle with geting the timeing perfict.

(curse you chu for stealing my Idea tongue.gif)

or just have multiple nukes all targetted on the same spot and hope nobody notices that is watching/playing the map tongue.gif .

I wonder if you can center a location on a nuke when it comes out, and change the hp of units inside the location just before the nuke hits?

You can.

You can increase nuke damage by increasing the default upgrades at start for "Upgrade 60". If you do not want the upgrade to affect other units, give the upgrades to a computer, and use a trigger to give all nukes owned by human players to the computer with the Unused 60 upgrade.

Would changing upgrade 60 mean a Mod was required for it to work? It sounds like something you'd do in a mod-making editor... or do you mean upgrade level 60 for ships/vechiles or something? Or is this one of those things we have to pm about to get more details? tongue.gif

Open up SF and look at the upgrades section. There is one called Unused 60

Go into Player Settings. There will be some tabs at the top, click "Upgrade" then scroll down.

Also someone should make a list in the tutorials about what each *known* effect of the Unused do.

Unused 60 is the only upgrade that affects anything. This upgrade will upgrade everything that there are no upgrades currently for, including building armor, cannon/turret/sunken/spore damage, SCV/Probe/Drone Damage, Spider mine/Nuke/Infested terran/scourge damage, Psionic Storm Damage, and MANY other things.
