Alright, I just checked my e-mail account to find out I've been bombed with like 45+ emails, all in my bulk/spam folder with such subjects as "Your email was blocked" "Your password" "Re:" "mailing error" and other such stupid general subjects. It's always kinda funny to get masses of emails with all the same sized attachment.

So, I'm just posting a warning, out in the open, for everyone: If it's someone you don't know, definitely do not download an attachment. If it's someone you do kinda know or whatever, don't download an attachment unless you are expecting one from someone. It's like real life, you don't anwser someone ringing the door bell and then pounding on the door on a dark night at 10 pm unless you are expecting someone.

It may be common sense to some of us, but there's always topics of some fool (I use this term lightly), asking for help with a virus or spyware and the like.

One reason for this is that I believe somehow, someone was using sen functions to attempt to email virii or some shit. I'm not exactly sure what was going on, but I was getting fake email like "Post-delievery failure notice to (u) bolt head..." with an attachment. It's quite possible I was, as admin, recieving email errors from sen's site or something, but I don't really care to check it out. I don't play games as I also don't care to install av, spyware checkers, firewalls, etc... Not that I condone such a move, but the best protection is just not to be stupid. Either way, I haven't got such an email for months now, but still: Refer to the statement above... Even if a god like me or yoshi sends you an email with an attachment, delete it unless you are expecting an email from us.


On a side note, the best way not to get your email full of spam is not to give it to sites that are likely to do nothing but spam you. Those sites that will spam you are worthless piece of shit sites and don't deserve your address ANYWAYS.

I get a ton from SEN saying "New reply in blah blah", but I don't know how to unsubscribe to forums so bleh.

I really hope this is common sense by now... P.S. Do those E-Mail scanners (i.e. when I do something in Comcast it says scanned by McAfee, although I don't own McAfee) work?

Yea, if you register for that Korean Map Making Site previously featured in the news (www.mapdori.com/) use a crap email address on it... I've received spam since I registered there though I have almost all of it on junk lists now... mostly I keep getting emails trying to sell me windows products for roughly 1/7th there normal cost. Strangely the emails are in English(broken english) but the sites to unregister from to not receive messages anymore are korean. Anyhow just a heads up to save ya'll some trouble .

neither did i and i have no spam the only thing i've goten from sen was from a member sending a file that i was suspecting

We don't sell your emails off to the highest bidder for profit or anything. No one can actually get your email unless its your msn address and someone spots it in there.

i'll give you 1000 minerals thats why you put hide your emails from other members...even though i haven't done that. but i have junk/spam block(3rd party blocker) on my msn account

I hide mine. I have a seperate hotmail address for spam emails and signing up for garbage which may result in newletter signups or whatever. Bottomline, my email is currently spamless.

If I change my msn in the future, I will take it to the next level by having my msn a non real email address (by making a forwarder, then deleting it right after, so my account is varified, but at the same time, spyware people can't send anything to it).

I wish i got like 45+ mails every so often...

RIght now i only get like 1 per week.

I get up to 15 daily, mostly a security advisory newsletter I signed up for, because im interested in the bugs and holes in php scripts, and also other products of course.

I got at most 500 of unsolicited spam every week (i don't know why)

Correction, Yoshi and isolated don't. I'm getting 10 bucks a pop.

But, seriously, I rarely get spam. Gmail owns.

That is exactly what myDOOM did to spread itself, it would say stuff like "Mailing error, please follow the instructions in the attatched file to fix this problem from happening." So, be careful xD

I havent gotten a single spam in my Gmail account. And I use that for EVERYTHING (Excepto VERY OBVIOUS spam sites)

Yea, like I said the spam is all blocked now.. apparently they don't have many advertising companies to sell it to in Korea . I usually get about 8-9 emails a day, legitimate non-spam emails .
