This may seem a little newbish, lol. But I'm having a problem. I Can't get all the workers to gather at one spot on a fastest map I made. It only allows 2 workers to mine at a time. I do play all maps and make all kinds of maps, but this is the first fastest i've attempted to make, and any help on this subject would be appreciated.
Peace

well you have to stack several minerals things, i think

I tried that in the SCXtra Editor in Special Mode, and it still didnt work. I Tried StarDraft and I get errors when I try to run the program.

well in stardraft u can stack the minerals i think so get that working

When I try to patch StarEdit I get an Debug message - "PatchOpenFileEx() Failed". And a "STORM.dll version not supproted!". Any Help With that?

I already have STORM.dll. Thats why I can't figure this out.
Well either your editor is that screwed up or starcraft xtra editor should work fine. If it doesn't work it's probably cause you see weird pop up bugs.
Hmmmm. I Think I found a newer version of Stardraft. I'll try this one. Also, I could stack in SCXTra but they wouldn't mine the same. They were all over the mins instead of 1spot mining on each side. And it wasn't as fast that way.

Nope that one don't work either......
First tell me the current triggers you are using and possibly post a snapshot of the mineral setup you're using.
I bet its a problem with your triggers.
K, the only trigger besides the basic melee map trigger I use is, an obs trigger that just give obs vision, which then makes it a ums map. As for the map here it is:
Hrm, for some reason I was under the impression you were trying to get a computer to mine from it.
Well I think the problem is bad ore placement. What you should do is place a bunch of mineral fields somewhere on the map, then go into SCM toolkit and change their locations so they all match the location of the one near the start location you want.
I can't think for the life of me why im wasting my time helping someone who plays those god awful gay maps.
Money map? Mining may require too much skill for some players!
Players: All
Conditions: Always
Actions: Add 999999 Ore and Gas for Current Player
-Preserve Trigger

That's what I would have done too... Especially when your explesitly telling us its FOR a money map and not a UMS one...
First of all, I don't play these "god awful gay maps", all the time, I also play all kinds of other maps. Sometimes you just have to break away from the monotony of play LT, or other pro type limited maps all the time. So don't think of it as wasting your time, because I would not, I would think of it as helping a fellow mapper. By the way I will try what you suggested.
Second, I like the critcism from the Moose. But look at this way, as a recruiting map, its not the mining you look at, it's the way the individual climbs the tech tree. This is just a faster way of seeing if a person knows the basics of the game, and a lot faster than LT.
Third, it's "Explicitly" not "Explesitly". Also, like I said "an obs trigger that just gives obs vision, which then makes it a ums map", is the only reason it becomes a UMS Map.
I'm not saying that I'm an "UBER MAPPER" or anything like that. But I think if you want to be a good mapper, you should try and learn every aspect of mapping for SC. Whether it be a serious RPG map chocked full of triggers and other goodies, or a basic Limited Melee Map, It does take some sort of mapmaking skill to make any map playable and enjoyable at the same time.

If you think LT is monotonous then you need to just get better at SC and find more skilled players to play against.
I agree with Chu. But on an unrelated note, you shoudl be able to recruit properly on any kind of map if you watch carefully. Money maps aren't the best way to recruit people, if you're actually looking to see how they respond in real combat situations. Just a thought.
If LT is monotonous...
Gaema Gowon
Rivalry
Incubus
Bifrost
Ragnarok
Hall of Valhalla
Legacy of Char
JR's Memory
One of my maps

There's plenty melee maps that are non money, and having huge quantities of cash corrupts. I think its best to test on a non money map, so you can see how they manage their money...you said its not the mining you look at, but if the players cant keep a solid income on a non-money map, it doesnt matter how good they can tech and such...they wont have the money for it. If they can manage money on a non-money map, even if they do play on fastest or bgh once in a while, they'll be okay, wont they?
Oh, trust me, I Recruit on more than just one map. I actually use a series of maps. I've been playing this game since it came out, so you can understand when I say LT can be monotonous, plus I'm very picky when I recruit. I just use "Fastest" as one recruiting tool, like for newbs. I just don't make a recruitment game and let anyone join, I go in search of recruits in other channels. If you got some experience I'll throw Vortex or other quality maps like that for the recruit. It just really depends on the situation, and what type of player I want to recruit. And really all a NEWB is, is a player in need of training, LOL.
And Finally, thanx Chu for the info, SCMToolkit worked, and Mini Moose for the trigger info.

You can play the game since it came out and still be a newb. And pro players have played LT since SC came out and don't think its monotonous. I've played it 1+ years and I don't.
LOL, sure pros do, we all do when we play a map over a 1,000 times or so. Thats why we make other maps to play on. I'm not saying I don't like LT, I'm saying I like variety.
And you can't say your a newb if you've been playing 7+ yrs, that's contradictory. But you can if you want, I guess, lol.
Anyways, I'm surprised this thread lasted this long.

Yes, you can play a game for many years and still be a n00b. Your skill factor is just that, skill, not time logged on a game. And Chu is right, most pro's play limited maps like that and still find them exciting.
I still play limited maps, probably 95% of the time. The other 5% UMS and other maps. And that's your choice if you want to say your a nOOb after playing for yrs. Some people are slower than others. In my case I say I'm an average player, but anyone can lose at anytime. Its just a game, and I play it that way. Sometimes my game sux, and sometimes it works out brilliantly, it's all in the strategy you use or counter with. Even a nOOb strat will take an advanced player by surprise every now and then. I've seen that happen from both sides. Just don't get caught with your pants down, lol.

I'm not saying I would be a n00b. I'm saying you are.

N00b!
How did we get on this topic of noobs. All I asked for is placement of minerals on a map, lol.
I did not say you were a noob Chu. All I said was if a player wanted to be referred to as a noob, thats up to them.
This would make a good thread, "What is a NOOB?". I wonder what most peoples definition of a noob really is.
I'm not trying to be an idiot or anything like that. So don't be so uptight, relax, everyone has a different opinion on everything. My opinion differs alot probably because of the age spread. I have kids as old as most people here. So don't let my opinion offend anyone, it makes for good conversation. Is that not what the forums are for?
