Hi.

I've seen a lot of maps with v. good and 'realistic' cutscenes. I'm actually working on a map, where I will have to make some 'movies'. Could you give me any tips about how to make them perfect?

Lots of testing. Try to get good at figuring out timing events, that is essential to good cutscenes. Other than that a decent cutscene consists of moving units, text, sound, and some special effects like spells or such.

bugless cutscenes. I hate it when I don't save, and SC screws something up for some reason, and have to go through the cutscenes again.

Thank you for your answers. By the way, do you know any good example of well made cutscences? Like a movie in *.scx/*.scm.

And do you have any idea, how to make a simple bar? To make it real, so it almost 'lives' ?

floor missile traps for top of bar then put wll missile trap in front of it
put vespene on the floor traps, it will look like beer.

not sure of a good cutscene but Tuxedo-Templar's A&O Trailor is a very good movie map.

I really dont know any good cutscenes, but be creative. Just think outside the box. Or watch a SC movie...

I tried doing that, and the vespene thingies just moved onto the guys, so I made a trigger to do that, and 2/5 actually stayed.

Use the Missile traps and the Floor Missile traps, they are bigger. The ones I used for the top were the gun trap, which are too small and force it to go onto the wall trap.

*Tests big traps

Ok I just tested using the bigger traps and you can preplace the gas tanks on them without the tanks moving.

Could anybody give me a screenshot of that missile trap + gas tank?

I just made a cutscene. I think it's good.

Now i need something for an intro to my map. It starts when the main character is recalling his past, it shows his memories about his dead father. Any idea how could I make that look more tragic? More mysterious or whatever. I need some kind of effect, cause the dialog is great I think.
