I was thinking... should i make a rpg (128x128 or 192x192) that's half or quarter covered with pylon aura sprites (depends on size), there would be underwater caves that would come up to land. You would have to buy oxygen tanks in order to survive, if u didn't have one you would get 10 seconds of no breathing until you have to come on land. since the aura's would make lag, i was gonna make it a smaller than usual rpg, but it would be harder.
Feedback please...
Already been suggested/talked about good idea except for hitting the sprite limit rather fast

, but other than that it would look cool... someone was doing some sorta underwater map once... I think maybe it was only part of it though, I can't remember.
Well... half the map would be caves, town (1 or 2?) and "enterable" terrain... so i dont think it would be a sprite limit problem.
NOTE: Yes, i've seen the forum.
Map_God is talking about TriggaMasta. PM him to talk about doing an underwater scenerio. I believe he also made a topic on it too.. not completely sure though.
Well, I'm all for it, it would give rpg's some diversity.

The hardest part of this will be placing the aura sprites

since SF only shows 1/4 of the whole thing i might have troubles with it (hopefully not)
The peice shown is sf isn't the upper right corner in starcraft.

The mouse is the center of the aura.
Okay. I tried it after reading this but the aura makes it lag like mad!
Ok, for one thing, you've put WAY too many sprites... the aura covers 4 times as much as it shows but only half of it you walk under, (right?) the top half.
EDIT: Im'a start to make terrain...
