Well, I have thought up another map idea! I trust no one will steal it so here it goes! I am gonna call it
Too Much Blood and it will be another Zergling blood map! The only difference is I am going to make it 4 players only, make the map into a cross shape, and make it so that people get zerglings faster! Also, I think (to make the map more equal) I will put in some kind of way for the person with the lowest amount of points to get more zerglings! Last, to sum it up, it will be kinda like king of the hill, or should I say king of the middle! I think that games have gone far from the idea that we shouldn't just attack each other and the middle is worthless. That is why the middle will do something. But, I don't want every one to get far away from the base idea either, so I might as well make it that if a person is able to conquer a base, everything inside EXPLODES!!! Obviosly there will be heros, and a mass attack system, and what not, but I don't think it is perfect enough to get people playing! What is your advice people of the SEN? Please tell!
P.S.- I don't do movie maps, because it is just not my style, so If you want me to think up another idea, make sure it doesn't go off that bases! Sorry movie map makers!
P.P.S.- I am currently into this giant mass attack thing, like golems, that is why I want to do something like this idea!
Good idea, but I would like to have at least 5 players... Your balancing thing is alright I guess, that's a pretty new idea. No offence, but nobody really plays madness anymore... it's just old. The only sort of madness I would play is a MTG map, where theres different colors and they each have unique spells/hero units you can purchase with mana...
Yea, I guess I'm just one of those people who wants to revitalize those ancient madness maps...Well, the good once atleast! Now days, everything is bounds and defences. It gets kinda boring after some time, I mean, if you've played one defence, then you've played them all. The differences are usually small. Besides, they only last so and so long now days before some one makes a new map...
Revelade, I think part of his having only 4 people is so it can be a simple cross shaped map...
Doesn't sound too bad. How you could encourage staying at your base is, well, SUPER anti-camp things so that you can't have your whole group of Zerglings be killed with 1 Psi Storm or something like that. And as for the underdog getting a negative handicap(bonus), it could be he spawns extra tough units, depending on how far under he is, that way he's not pushed down even harder by some Psi Storm that shredded his entire bigger-than-any1-elses' army. Like, instead of Zerglings, Devouring Ones. Or Firebats. That would help balance it. Or perhaps he gets hero credits faster. Just a question, but are you thinking of just a plain cross shape, or having a few tunnels and ramps and stuff between the bases and hallways? Also you could have an anti-annoyance thing that stops making Zerglings when there are so-many on the spawn point. Like
Player commands at most 100 Zerglings at location '100 Zerglings can fit on this location'
Set Switch 'Zergling Spawn'
Preserve Trigger
Switch 'Zergling Spawn' is Set
Create 1 Zergling at location '100 Zerglings can fit on this location'
Preserve Trigger
Player Commands atleast 99 Zerglings at location '100 Zerglings can fit on this location'
Clear Switch 'Spawn Zerglings'
Preserve Trigger
Too bad then you need a switch for each player. Also, there is no commands at condition. Try something more flexible that will allow you to use Current Player, suching as setting Deaths for an unused unit.
Actually, I was thinking more on the lines that when someone does get like 50 Zerglings, it just combines 25 of them into one super Zergling! Also, I'll think about that idea to use firebats as a "catch up" tool!
Last, it wont be just a simple cross shape, it will have some things to make the game harder! But mass attacking will take a bit longer if your not going strait across

4 Player maps in general do NOT work out... Bnet likes maps that have many players... I would like to suggest to ALL the people at staredit.net to make 5 player maps if they can because more players is definitely more fun, and I don't like to see people dismissing hard work into the trash because it has only few players. I am not saying this because I think 5 player maps are the best, but because bnet people are simple minded, so I am warning you, your hard work will not be appreciated as much as a map with more slots.
Yea, but in some cases, it ended up the exact opposite you just said... Have you ever played a jail escape game? because there was one with only three players allowed, and It was cool! (and a success)
You should probably extend your range of map making... if you keep making Madness/Blood/Golem maps its esentially copying everything from the last map you made...
I have a big range, I mean, I make RPGs, I am going to make a Movie Map, I have made a bound, a couple of Madness Types, TONS of tags, and a couple of mysteries! So, I can do anything I want. I choose not to do RPGs anymore, just because I am lazy and they take more time than anything, if you ask me!
Hmm... there is already an idea thead... *COUGH* *COUGH*

To answer to that last response, I would just like to say, god, what is wrong with you? Seriously, I mean, what would possess a person to find all their threads and just post stupid comments? Before you post on my thread next time, please make it reasonable and not a worthless post. Besides, when you mix map ideas, then you have atleast 30 people talking about diff. maps that who knows when were last checked. Last, don't call god stupid, he doesn't like it!
