Hey, I was wondering if there was a program somewhere in this crazy ol' mixed up universe of ours, that you could use to record, extract, or whatever, sounds and music and such out of a movie file. {such as MPEG, AVI, ASF, etc.} If anyone knows of one it'd be kind of handy if they'd tell me what it is and where I could get it.

DivX is a DVD Ripper (Copy a DVD onto your computer as a readable format)
I know there is a DivX codec to play them also.

For music CDs, you can get a CD Ripper and save them as MP3s.
I use YAMP.

READ what I am asking... I know how to rip stuff... I'm asking if there is a program that you can take out/extract sounds and music from a VIDEO FILE ITSELF!

I use the RAD Game Tools' Bink Video. It lets you extract sounds, add sounds, convert to different formats ... tons of different things.

Okay, y'know, these things you people are suggesting to use.. really sound helpful and I'd like to get them, but you gotta realize YOU gotta tell meh where to find them please, that's the whole point of this thing.

Well, if your looking for sounds and stuff off of camera video files than I suggest using iMovie, (for mac) but if your looking to rip sounds off of mpeg files, all I can say is that I gave up looking for a decent one about two years ago. Basically what I did was I mixed some peices from a headphone set to a microphone, and I could rip any sound from any program flwalessly and save it to a laptop. If your interested I could post some basic instructions on how I made it. (I was the first to invent those things that rip tunes from the radio. biggrin.gif )

lol, the first? That depends, a lot of people have figured out to do that, only I use a input wire from the computers speaker input to the stereos headphone jack

I'm not going to feed your lazyness. Just because you're too lazy to use a search engine doens't mean I should have to spend more time to do it for you.
