I'm a bit deceived... They seem to just be following the other compagnies around =(

You know we could, but in the end, the topic trails off to the 360 or the PS3. People need to start giving Nintendo credit from saving the genre from collapsing back in the Atari days, to mainstreaming analog joysticks, vibration feedback and wireless controllers of today.

Anyway, the Revolution is set to change how we play games... again.

Features:

- can play gamecube games out of the box
- can download NES to N64 titles for a reduced fee
- will have wireless controllers, possibly with 4 or more ports
- will launch with Super Smash Bros. 3, which will be ONLINE
- will connect to the Nintendo DS
- will come in several colors
- will be 2-3 times more powerful than the Gamecube
- can play DVDs, and game discs will be the size of CDs
- controllers are rumored to have gyration technology meaning it detects controller movement, not just pressing buttons
- will be about the size of 3 DVD cases, stacked on top of each other
- should cost considerably less than the estimated $500 of the PS3 and 360
- will ship in mid 2006
- will have wireless internet connection to vs players around the world
- internet games will be matched by player skill, which is similar to Halo 2 or Warcraft III's systems
- internet play will be FREE, except the charge you pay to your ISP

My opinions:

- best looking system of the 3
- will be cheapest of the 3
- you can play hard to find classics like Chrono Trigger or Mario RPG
- controllers will be exciting to use, since they will have new features
- a plus for gamecube owners
- Super Smash Bros. 3 at launch! playable ONLINE!
- if you don't like the launch games, you can always buy the NEW zelda: the twilight princess, which definitely will be gold
- very portable, so you can carry it to places
- internet play is free, with matchmaking system

Too bad they don't have Square Enix and Hideo Kojima. Or else, I would rush to buy it...

But 2-3 more powerful than Gamecube?!?!
PS3 will be 35 times more powerful that the PS2.

So was the XBox, so unless the 360 is atleast 50% bigger, taking it places shouldn't be a problem.

It looks pretty cool. But its too... boxy. Reminds me of my VCR. and i dont want a console that looks like a VCR!

Look how crappy the PS2 was compared to the Xbox or cube. But who won the war? Exactly.

Ps2 wasnt crappy. The xbox may be less crappy (whatever the term is supposesed to mean in your opinion, but its obvious that the gamecube is LIVING CRAP!

It seems you misinterpreted my statement about the PS2 being crappy. What I meant by crappy is that it has the most inferior hardware compared to the cube or Xbox. Want proof? Why do you think they are downscaling graphics on the PS2 port of RE4? Want more proof? Why do you think on numerous games such as Metal Arms or Need for Speed Underground, that the PS2 version looks the worst of all? Face the fact that the PS2 is the least powerful of the current systems right now. You can't change that, neither can I or Yoshi.

However, in a global sense of opinion, I will admit the PS2 was successful, with its large user base and a truckload of games. The hardware is bad, but overall, the system is a success and that proves my point. Therefore, you shouldn't forecast that the Revolution will fail automatically. So to the point, the PS2 HAD the worst specs, yet it came out on top. Why can't people admit that?

I keep hearing that they are using Virtual Reality carp for the system...
Why would they do that... lol, Its not like it will help them a Whole lot...

The only thing I could find useful is if they make some sort of controler like normal controlers but make it so when you tilt it to the side it does something...
That would be cool for a racing game having a controler StearingWheel

Or not. They should have a mini steering wheel on there already, so like u add that on top of the D-Pad or have the D-Pad removable.

The odds of Nintendo falling apart are about 1 in a million. You have to remember Nintendo brought the gaming world, if it wernt for them games now would prolly suck ass, halo might look like all the flash ones you see now :/ And not to mention they have a lot of old classics like Legend of Zelda 1,2, and 3. Original Mario..... I think people over think Nintendo to much

Just cuz they started us off, doesn't mean they rule. I mean, Nintendo has the kewlest character: LINK! But still, I like more... serious... war-like or something like those games. That's why Halo isn't one of my favorites. Not only does it get boring, it's just too colorful for a war...

I'll agree Halo had a bit too much colour for a war game, but it was a fabulous game nonetheless.
I will also admit that the Ps2 was the best of the 3 systems, even though it was the weakest in capability. X-box was a one game system to me. And cube...was full of great games, but was never given a chance, people not wanting to play it because it had kiddie games, so don't play them!
Anywho, back to the future. The revolution seems to be learning its lesson from PS2 that the best team (in this case Nintendo) dosen't always win.

With all the new feature (online play, downloadable games), let's hope Nintendo don't screw it up...AGAIN!

Let's just hope that they don't release last like last time.

How DARE you call Gamecube a kiddy game system!! It's more... um... aimed towards a broader audience, and you can get gamecube for like little kids so you know for sure that they won't get mature games...

Nintendo does market their stuff towards children, but they're changing that.

I have the unnerving feeling that PS3 is somehow going to come in last place this time. I just see so much more enthusiasm for 360 and Revolution. And Neiji, if you want realistic war simulations, you have to go PC.

Playstation has always been in first place ever since the first system. If you check, the majority of sales and games and game sales are for PS vs it's rivalry consoles, and PS2 and it's rivalry consoles. I'll let you people use a search device to find that.

I know, but Nintendo was the king for so long. Might Sony feel the sting of the curse of Nintendo?

Well Nintendo certainly looks like they are changing their views on console gaming and targeting some of their newer products towards a broader range of age groups, so it's certainly a possibility.
