#1 Is there any way to get a science vessel to defence matrix o a particular unit?

#2 is it normal for starcraft to crash, when building nukes whom time is set to 1 second to build them?

#1: We have tutorials for everything!

No, building nukes with 1 build time does not usually crash SC. Check the map again: has Staredit changed the build time to 0 after you set it in starforge/scmdraft?

If you were using Starforge, the build times are slightly different. The units of time in SF are 15ths of a second, so maybe you should try a higher number (like 15).

Not just Starforge, SCMDraft 2 does that aswell.

when building buildings and units, i never go lower than 15, it has always worked for me. upgrades are the only things i set to 0.

Yer, I made the nuke build time 1 in staforge, but use staredit for everything else, because I prefer it.

So, staredit stuffs it up? And I need to set it to at least 15 seconds in starforge?

Staredit rounds starforges' 1/15 s to 0, and then saves it as zero if you save the map.
You'll have to change it back and resave it in starforge.

It doesn't need to be at least 15 frames in order to work; a build time of 1 in starforge should work.

Right I got it.

I also discovered I can change the properties of a nuke using staredit in the xtra tab. I didn't see that before! crazy.gif

I got a question this thread can answer:

If a unit has defence matrix cast on itself, does nuke do 1 damage?

I tried a lot of this biggrin.gif

No, it does not.

I don't know the total damage the defence matrix protects a unit from, but if you nuke a unit, it will take.... I think 2xx hits from the unit if it has defence matrix on.

One BC can stand 2 nukes, if you matrix it just before the nuke each time. It should have like 1-10 hps left (i can't remember for sure).

Also, the first blow on a matrixed unit, takes a lot out of the matrix shield.

If you matrix a BC, and hit it with yamato, then it does less than 20 damage. If you repeat that, but before that get any unit to do one attack, and suddenly the yamato gun does considerably more damage. Like..... i can't remember but I think mabye around 3x as much.

A nuke does at least 500 damage to any unit.
A defensive matrix will prevent up to 250 damage before it wears out.
A battlecruiser has 500 hp and 3 armour by default.

If a nuke does almost 500 damage to a battlecruiser, that would suggest that nuke damage is reduced by armour but not by defensive matrix.

Can anyone confirm this hypothesis?

Addendum: I tested it.
If you nuke a battlecruiser without defensive matrix, then it will survive on 3 hp.
If you nuke a battlecruiser with a new defensive matrix, then it will survive on 253 hp.

So nuke damage is reduced by both armour and defensive matrix.

If a nuke hits a battlecruiser, it will have 3 hps yes.

If a nuke hit a battlecruiser with matrix shield, the bc will have 253 hps left.

If .... you place a battlecruiser, put matrix shield on it, get a ghost to hit it once (making no damage whatsoever), then hit the bc with the nuke (while the matrix is still on), the bc will have 243 hps left.....

If you do the same us above, but make the ghost hit the battlecruiser twice, taking just 1 hp, after the nuke the bc will only have 233 hps left.

Matrix is weeeeird.....

I'm paranoid about knowing how starcraft works inside out biggrin.gif
