I can use SCMToolkit on Windows XP fine. Make sure you have all the required programs and such. Also, a specific error message would help us to help you.

Whats the point when you have so many better editors out there... Starforge, SCMDraft 2, SC Xtra 2.6... etc.

when i open a map using scmtookit it said
"Could not fine mpq Archiver C:\documents and settings\Xp User\Destop\SC Tools\MPQ2K.exe" run time error '76' path not found
another problem when i click on "options" it said "run time error '76' path not found"

You're either missing the MPQ2K program or you need to change the directory it looks for it in. The RunTime error means you need to download the Visual Basic (VB) Runtimes required for the program.

If you look at our Downloads database and find SCMtoolkit, the version I included there is different from the other sites. I included instructions, required files and the whole bit. Thus, its probaly the most stable release of it

right so i made a folder Sc tool on the destope and place all the scmtoolkit fool into that folder and it works.. can u explan to me wahts so weird? everything works perfectly fine now..

Did you run the mpq setup file then in SCMtoolkit BROWSE for mpq2k.exe?
