This is a map about (what else) Duran's crossing of Protoss and Zerg. Most maps, in order to successfully create anything unique from the crossbreeds, needs to use a mod of some sort. I have used no mods in my map. There are quite a few triggers. For player 8, for nstance, there are over 400 triggers that apply specifically to that computer player. I feel I have a unique map. I have incorporated effects into this map that have never been used before to my knowledge. Most notably are suicidal Zealots and a Dark Templar that heals and infests other units. This is such a hard map, but it is so much fun to play. I promise it will be enjoyed by any and all. Please, everyone leave feedback in this thread or on the map itself.

I checked out your triggers, they're WAY too complicated. E.g., you made separate Conditions and Effects for every Terran ground troop, while you could have used Ground Only locations and the Men parameter.

However, the storyline is pretty interesting.

Keep up the good work.

You're right, it does seem like I made the triggers unnecesarily complicated. Believe me, if it weren't necessary, I would have kept it simpler. Believe it or not, I originally had it the way you suggested, having only ground units set off the trigger. I had to make a VERY time consuming adjustment making so many specific triggers, but the reason for doing so was because I only wanted Terran units to set of the the kamikaze explosions. I wanted the Protoss zealots to be immune. Therefore, the only possible way to do so was to be incredibly specific. Thanks for the input though. It was very complicated, and believe me, if there was a simpler way, I couldn't think of it, but I surely would have prefered it. happy.gif

ADDITION:
I wish I could figure out some way to get more people to download my maps and reply to my threads. My next idea is this: I am putting the map her in the thread. This way, it will be within easy access for those who don't want to follow the link to download it. Thanks for the two comments I've received, and I hope more people will download it and check it out. It really is quite fun, original, and challenging. Check it out, folks!

EDIT: NVM, I see what you mean by the kamikaze units.

Pretty nice map. Very interesting. Have you considered putting it up for review?

I'm glad you like it. How does one request a review? I have so little time to spend at this site. Do I just send it to the staff? When I go to the "request review," it doesn't give any links or anything. It just gives a tiny bit of info.

You can ask someone else to put in the review section for you if you really like.

Use this instead:
Trigger
Players:
¤ The Force that the Human Players are in
Conditions:
¤ Cur. Player brings at least 1 men to Ground Only Location
¤ Comp. Player brings at least 1 Kamikaze Zealot to Ground Only Location
¤ Any other conditions
Actions:
¤ Kill all men for Human Players at Ground Only Location
¤ Kill all Kamikaze Zealot for Comp. Player at Ground Only Location
¤ Any other effects
¤ Preserve Trigger

This saves you time and everything, just not money on car insurance.

The human player starts out with exactly 8 zealots that he must hold on to for the duration of the map. Since he is a Terran player, he will never be able o build his own. These zealots are the only units he owns that are immune to the effects of the infested zealots. They are different units. The infested "kamikaze" zealots are owned by the computer (the Fenix unit), while the "elite" zealots are owned by the human player (regular zealot unit). Using them carefully isvery key to survival in my map. They will not blow up as any other unit will when within the range of the infested zealot's explosive radius. I really don't believe there was any other way to set it up. If I'd made the conditions "Current player brings one 'men' to 'location,'" then the good-guy zealots would die, too. Thanks for the suggestion, but I couldn't find any other possible way. You guys are very right, there are a butt-load of triggers. Had to be done, though.
I'm glad that it is well received. Would anyone who reads this forum care to submit it in the review section?

Is there anyone who would be willing to put my map in the recommend and review? I really want a lot of people to enjoy it.

I don't understand why all the sunkens are called "Dadeulus" or something.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by darth_ender on 2005-06-08 at 10:48:21
You know, I don't know why they're called daelelus or whatever. I can't work on my maps, or even test them. I'm using a roommate's computer, and I have no way to fix it up. I don't remember ever renaming the sunken colonies, so I don't know how that happened. Hey, DevliN_ would you be willing to put my map in the recommend and review section?

So when the time comes to make a four-player version, what do people recommend? I would like to make one player Protoss, the rest of the players with different strengths and weaknesses. If people recall, I really like to have that sort of emphasis on team cooperation. My map, Queen of Blades, is an ideal example of that. Also, for a sequel (which I completely left the map open for) what would everyone suggest? By the way, has anyone beaten this map? I made it pretty hard. One more thing: what improvements could it use for the future?

Anyone can feel free to give their input in the recommend and review section. I want this map to be well distributed.

ADDITION:
Hey, I'd really like some input on making the map four player and on a sequel. Please leave more input guys.

ADDITION:
So everybody:
MilleniumArmy kindly made a review of my map. When I get the chance to work on it some more, I know what to improve, but it got a very good rating. Check it out.
