Another cool RPG. This one's been out awhile, and apparantly there's a stolen version floating around called Faith & Destiny. It's not finished, but it a good example of a turn based battle system in Starcraft.

(hmm, I thought this was NanakiXIII's map...)

It's Nanaki_XIII's and Endarire's RPG. Nanaki_XIII stopped making the map at 65% and Endarire took over and renamed it. Though, credit should of still been given. It's a good map, but sometimes drags on alot in a long game, and it glitches sometimes. It's a good map though, recommended for any true RPG player.

Yeah it's definitely not perfect, but I haven't seen to many SC rpgs with actual fleshed-out story and characters like this one. Points for that much, at least.

It is your fate and destiny to play this wacko rpg...

Even though in the map it says the map was made by KoeZ)ZvR, everyone says that it was actually made by nanakiIII and endairire, which i believe is true. This is quite a nice RPG with true rpg style righting. It's one of those very few rpgs in which i love the way it works.

The story sounds extremely made up. All these bizarre names used, (Rox, Volarie, etc) clearly show that they were made up by kids like us. But of course, that's a good thing in many ways, because it shows the creativity and effort the makers put into this map. The story in the briefing was a bit boring and cheezy at the same time. Seeing this whachamacallit Nox creature (zergling) that's on the brink of death and giving her (or his) child to a random guy that goes by the name of..... ah shit i 4got. Actually, that's what i dont like about these rpgs; the names are too exotic and random that it's just hard to remember whose who. Confuses the crap out of the audience, especially if they have low reading comprehension skills. Unfortunately, that'd be almost all of us.

So neways, one of the players you get to play as is a boy called... Ryo. Sounds vaguely remiscent to the name Ryu from the StreetFighters wink.gif. At the beginning of the game, you can choose whether to view some cinematics or just view none of them (for time and patiences' sake). Unfortunately, for reviewing purposes, i chose to view the cinematics. Boring boring, especially when you have a difficult time remembering all the names of the people and events. But that doesn't really affect the gameplay.

Initially, "Ryo" controls the party and can go wherever he desires to go. Once he bumps into some baddies, the real action begins. You can choose to make a normal attack, a special attack (which costs mana), use an item, or just run away and be a coward. pretty much when you make an attack you have a good chance of "missing" your opponents, but at least in the early stages of the RPG, the bad guys rarely ever miss. Basically when you "attack" someone, you and your adversaries will be placed in some "fighting arena" which is supposedly suppose to be remniscent to the setting in which you encountered the bad guy. For about 17 seconds, you can just hack away at your opponents. Once it's their turn, they get to hack away at you. You could run around in circles to reduce the amount of damage you take in, but seeing how many people on battle.net are incapable of doing such simple tasks, tend to make their units run in "squares" and take in the same amount of damage as if they just stood still.

Pretty much this is how the RPG works. Wander around as a party (only Ryo can do this), visit random stores (armory, inn, chemist house, etc) and buy items, and fight fight fight. This type of RPG is suppose to be very very slow paced, but then again, replayability factor is really high (at least for me, but i'm not going to be playing this again unless someone coerces me to do so). These types of RPGs are suppose to be rich in their story lines and have tons of cryptic enigmas ready for us to debunk. This RPG did an excellent job in doing so.

Personally, i thought this RPG was a bit slow for me, but I can definately see how this RPG could be enjoyed by many people on battle.net. Creativity earns an 8.5/10, since the RPG uses it's own story line (i think) and it's own characters/situations. Originality earns an 8.0/10, I've seen some RPGS like this, but clearly not as good as this. Terrain receives a 9/10, I saved the replay of this map and saw the entire map. It was well embellished and designed. Looks very fun to play on. Complexity, i can see many triggers oriented into this map, 9.0/10, Fun factor, 7.5/10 for me, but for other people, i'm sure it will fluxuate.

Overall it deserves an 8.5/10. One of the best rpgs i've seen out there along with Legacy of Haen and is a must play. However, to survive in later parts of this rpg, it must be played with more than one person.

I've only played it a few times (the Faith and Destiny version) but it never once got boring for me.
