Map Type: Melee Style: 1v1 Size: 96x96
Review: A terrific 1v1 melee map. It's going to be one of the maps for the 2005 World Cyber Games, and it's definately my favorite of them. The terrain on this map is outstanding. You must check out this map just to see the terrain. There is a super-sized bridge (which i have NO idea how to do). This game also has terrific gameplay. Even if you don't play melee, you should check out that bridge!

Map Type: Melee Style: 1v1 Size: 96x96
Esthetics:
Up to the standards of any map produced by a good production team. Certainly above the average ie. 5/10. The large bridge in my opinion is an eye sore, but many others think its cool because its big, but being big doesnt change the fact that its stupid. Other than that, there isn't anything especially pretty about this map. It's just like any other map in this regard
6/10
Originality:
There is rarely a map mirrored symmetrically in this style. The expansions are left open and differ from the norm quite a bit as there is two chokes to it. The bare lack of minerals is also another innovative feature of this map. All in all, this is not your standard map.
8/10
Game play:
The map is mostly balanced. Terran has quite a bit of strength on this map, without the problems of not being able to survive early-mid game as on korhal. In this regards, its a worthy replacement to the previous 2 player map. However, on korhal, terran became unbeatable during the mid-late game transition. This map absorbs this without the impossiblities of early-mid game.
The pure lack of minerals and gas makes it very difficult for a zerg player to be able to compete with terran or protoss. In order to do so they need to be able to stop their opponent from taking the cliff expansion. Since this expansion favours the attacker, zerg has a good chance of taking down that expansion, and because there isnt much minerals on the map, they cant pull far ahead of the protoss. Good map for ZvP.
However, this is not possible against terran, whatsoever. Additionally, the double choke doesn't matter for any race or matchup other than zvt. The two paths also help terran quite a deal by greaty reducing flanking capabilities. I didn't think that it'd be possible to make a map any worse for ZvT than korhal, but these guys proved me wrong.
4/10
Overall:
Shitty game play, average pro map looks and an original concept:
6/10
6/10 is a horrible score for a map in a money tournament, however, this is well up to WCG's standards of picking really bad maps for anything that involves a prize.

Esem, nice map review and humor as well, however, i disagree on much of it. I do not think the map is favored for terran, i just think that it gives off a huge disadvantage towards zerg.

It's good to have oppposing opinions on maps though, so people can read a good review and a bad review then cast their own opinion in a more informed light

Yea... I think that Paranoid Android will be the most played WCG map this year... I signed up, WCG starts sometime in August like always.

Have u guys noticed that almost no melee maps ever seem to give zerg a bigger advantage than the other races?

The usual trend for map balance is either the map gives an advantage to zerg over protoss, but terran over zerg or a disadvantage for zerg against both. Of course, every now and then there's Dark Sauron map floating around.

Good map, what I don't like is 1v1.

Oh, you like playing 2v2 and relying on your partner, playing money maps with no rush, and comp stomping?

For a nonserious game it's always nice to 2v2 with a good person, at least if you suck real bad you can at least get a good game But I like to play with fair teams.
