Ok I'm not the only one who has this problem, and I didn't find it in any FAQ... So here goes:
Why is it that when I make a game, no bod can join? all my friends say I have a high latency but only 47 ping?! I have a firewall, but even when i disable that, nobody can come???
U have to open ur port. But I dont open my post since I dont want a virus attack lol.
Or your firewall migth still be monitoring people that connect to your computer. So if u wanna host, you have to join a game with your friends first.
How do I open my port(?) and what is it? All I want is people who can join my games... Like, a step-by-step would be great... If it matters, my firewall is ZoneAlarm....
Thanks
Joining someone elses game always works for me. Then create your game afterwards.

That didn't work... It works when Im ion a game with somebody, then I make a game, and they join immediatly.... But no, still nothing

I have the same problem, even if I completely uninstall the firewall... Router? (I have cable)
Ive done all that already before
Ok then... I dont have ZoneAlarm Pro, and even then, Blizzard tutorial doesnt seem to work... There are things that arent there... I guess my question is how do I open my ports with regular ZoneAlarm? Or is there another way?
I use ZoneAlarm (Not Pro) and I do not find information on what to do. (It doesn't have the "Option" button for programs)
EDIT: What he said.
Man I dont mean to be such a pain, but theres no custom boutton there... Theres advanced, but I dont think thats it.
ZoneAlarm Plus/Pro/Suite
That isn't just plain "ZoneAlarm"; that is our problem.
There is help for the more advanced ZoneAlarms, but not the simple one everyone has

By the way I jsut want to thank everyone is is helping us people who cant make games... I really dont try to make a mess of myself. Just want to let you know that your help is appreciated, especially you, LegacyWeapon
I"m sure we all agree (especially me).
Thanks people & LegacyWeapon (Sure some of the stuff may be not what we were looking for (not sure about him + probably failed to explain good? I don't know) but it still helped.
Ive had this problem for a long time, even before having ZoneAlarm.
I've had this problem, since I got cable... (long time ago)
Hmm... No response from anyody? Are we doomed to a life of joining games?
I have no clue. Have you tried Google?
If you really have trouble I bet
http://majorgeeks.com have some pretty smart people there in the forums that will be able to help you.
Dude, I have this problem too, and I can't join most of the games in join either even if they are one green bar...
Do you think Blizzard could fix it(they wont, but Im free to dream)
Maybe our connections are good, and everybody else's sucks?
I have a fairly good connection, above average in todays standards... but im startin to get TO'ed at this whole thing
Its not our connection. I was reading through some of the stuff Legacy put and it said firewalls, proxies, and LAN internets (like routered) block some ports. So if something tries to come in through that port that is blocked (such as information that a user is joining/joined) it just blocks it. Then the latency trick (joining a game they are in) you send data to them (I guess), opening the port and allowing them to send information and join.
I may be wrong, but its pretty close.
