Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Cloacking Zerg Buildings
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tdnfthe1 on 2005-05-28 at 14:20:37
I'm trying to cloak Zerg Buildings and it isn't going well with the way the tutorials have described. I'm thinking It might just be the buildings I'm attempting to cloak. I'm mainly trying to cloack creeps, but shortly after the game crashes.

The Creeps are computer controlled, The trigger is under the computer which the buildings belong, and no players can see the cloacking or enabling. That should be all the info you guys need to help me out.

I'm trying to get this done quickly so quick responses would be very helpful. Thank you.

You can't cloak all units that way. Buildings are the same thing. And by creeps do you mean creep colony/sunken/spore colony?

I'm trying to hurryup and get this sort of thing started fast. PLEASE HELP!

Well what I mean is...I don't think you are able to cloak creep colonies.

What about using a Cloaked Drone to build? That's possible.

Download my map and see that its is possable. It shouldn't crash but it happened to me once, but that was when i was testing this map

ADDITION:
Also My with my method of cloaking a zerg building you can cloak all the buildings

Simple:
1- open my map
2- go to triggers for player 2
3- modify the trigger for player 2 should be named 'cloak a drone'
4- go to action, put a preserve trigger at the end
5- play the map
6- type in the code 'operation cwal' and show me the money'
7- build whatever zerg building you want with the cloak drones

"So noy you can't (with exceptions), means HE CAN! Jesus! I guess I better make a test map to see what can be cloaked and what can't.

It's already been done, a list made of which Zerg buildings are cloakable and which aren't. I just read it yesterday, but I can't find it now! crazy.gif

If it's that long, I doubt I read through it. It was either the Tutorials or a Forum topic.

I think you can disable one of the overminds to make it cloak.

With the arbitor trick to cloak the drones and then make them make cloaked buildings, it only works on buildings that do not spread creep. So it will not cloak the hatcheries or creep colonies. But spawning pools, hydra den, queens nest etc.

I needed thos done with a computer player. I was talking about a way of cloaking using the disable or enable doodad state trick. But seeing as how you guys went into a long talk about something other than that, i will just abandon the idea. Thanks for nothing yet something!
