Anyways, you heard the arguements before.
The Pro side said it removed excuses for map unprotectors, it promoted learning, made the community closer to "open source", and it taught newbies some pointers.
The con side said that it will reveal passwords and your hidden credit card numbers if you include them on the map, plus if the map maker wanted to take credit for triggering techniques (which by the way, is not a reason at all, because any map maker could "guess" what triggers were used)
Anyways, debate away. I only have one rule, and that is, don't repeat the same point, or if its been said already. Think carefully about your vote and your reply.
I agree with Trigger Viewer. It's basicly the only sole good reason why UnProtectors can be good, to see the triggers. Now with this program UnProtectors will be 100% bad because now you have this program to view the triggers without stealing the map.
A good example would be my map. People might want to see the big chain that I'm doing that sends messages reflected on your current and past actions. I'd be great if people could see the triggers and use them as an example. Same thing goes with the Random Scenarios.
This could also be used by Pro Mapmakers such as myself to see trigger efficiency. If someone used my Accuracy Bullet System but achieved it in 2 less triggers I'll be stunned by the fact that I could make it even more efficient with the help of this person.
There is no reason why Trigger Viewer should be labeled as a "Hack".
I voted for 4th one.
Yoshi, there's too much levity in the "con side" of your post.
There should be an option for, I don't care about this program at all, yet I think that the people who are against it are wasting their time because it doesn't matter. Protections is worthless.

I don't think at least 75% of the people here could've even thought up triggers for a map like Teh Seekers without looking at the triggers.
Either way, whatever happens, I still say the name should be changed.
Its brilliant, you cant do anything really bad with a trigger viewer, its just a way for people to find out how they did a certain thing. A great addition to the map making community.
I also find it funny how most of the people in favor of this program are NOT the elite mappers (Bolt, Tux, etc). Warhamma? RexyRex? Where are their major maps? They're not affected at all by this. (no offense to them
)
Mini_Moose, I think it's the people who actually make maps and are devoted are the one who cares about the trigger viewer. I mean, Devilesk, Chu and Warhamma aren't the most devoted map makers, nor the "elite" so to say. So they don't care about it, and when you don't care, you usually agree. I voted for the 4th option.
My warhammer map will be 1337, once i get back into it(which im more in the mood today than yesterdaty, ect), but it wont have major trigs.
Bur really, so? What if we havnt made a major map? A trigger viewer? idc, nobody is stealing it. unless u could save the triggers on another map.
You obviously misunderstood what was said.

I actually do make maps and was devoted too. Pfft, it's the stupid people who feel that their maps are the best and that no one should have the priviledge of looking at it because it's too good, which most aren't, that want to protect their maps.
Then i dont have to worry.

But moose, they didn't say they hated it either. You can't assume they don't like it if they dont say anything
They might just not care.
No, I actually went out to find names of people who have said something. Check the topic the first release of it was in.
I am debating if I should release the new version of Trigger Viewer, already patched for the new version of Uberation.
This is turning into what I didn't want: A program war
I make a version, Legacy makes a new version that blocks Trigger Viewer, I make a new version to beat that.. and so on.
I think I may just offer up the source to people who I trust and want it.
I really want the thoughts on the more advanced/well known mappers here.
Thoughts?
Competition makes better programs. It just improves the quality of both programs*. I think it's funny at sometimes though.
How about trusted SEN members can only have it... err. thatd wouldnt work.
What's the point of that warhamma? honestly, trigger viewer is a MAJOR resource for helping new map makers understand and by doing that just defeats the purpose.
Yeah, I agree with with the use of TriggerViewer, but I agree with it as much as Legacy (or anyone else) making a program against it. It's hard to explain what I mean.

Let people block certain triggers with an unchecked never condition?

and it'll take 1 person to add a save function to make it into a deprotection program.
cool
Exactly, SI. I think maybe people should have the option of hiding triggers, but it should be discouraged. After all, who cares if someone wants to see the passcodes in your map? It's their problem if they don't want to spend the time and beat it. And as for hidden credit card numbers, who does that anyway? Sure someone could painstakingly retype all of the triggers, but I don't think thats the mapmaker's problem. If someone wants to steal your map that badly, they must be a complete anal loser. Besides, mainly people on SEN know about Trigger Viewer, and SEN is a very hard community to fool. After all, look what happened to Dark_lunatic_K/zergkilla68. Its very hard to steal maps in this community because of uber people like Clokr_, Yoshi, LW, etc.
I hate to burst your bubble, but the internet consists of more than staredit.net. Do you really think its going to stay exclusively on this site for long?
Releasing so many version on this "program" war isn't really going to help. You think people are really going to create a new version of their map just to add a little more protection? That's just stupid.
The question is not if I should incorperate anti-Trigger Viewer into my protection, for each level of protect can block Trigger Viewer. The question is whether when I do release 80% ultimate protection, should I help him figure it out. If most of the community wants Trigger Viewer, then fine. I can deal with that. I don't want Trigger Viewer to go so much farther and give insane amounts of information about your map.
Just triggers will be fine... and maybe locations but I really don't see an need to view locations.
