i don't know if this in a tutorial ...too tired to look for it

noobage!
i tried with normal triggers (campaing editor) and i couldn't find one with the action stop wav...
i don't know if you can really stop it
what i want is like stop a wav right in the mid of it or at least when it's playing

The most you can do is break it into many small pieces and play them one after another and when the player "stops" the music. It will stop at one of the smaller breaks rather than waiting out the whole length of the music.

I suppose the way Blizz incorporated sounds into mapping was that they are to be played as mere sound clips, not music, and therefore you aren't supposed to expect long music files that need to be "stopped". Since breaking music up into fragments is no fun, just think of some other way. What is the exact scenario you plan to implement "stop music" into?

Well I actually think that breaking the song into pieces wouldn't be that hard.. You could have like
Trigger
Conditions:
¤ Play Music Is Set
Actions:
¤ Play Piece 1
¤ wait (however long clip is)
¤ Set Play Music 2
¤ Clear Play Music
¤ Preserve Trigger

then do the same thing and stop would stop all the play music switches

You'd need seperate triggers. Although another the condition is no longer true, the trigger will still finish all its actions before stopping.

That trigger would be the same as having 1 long piece of music.

no dodging skippyness doing that though. Even if your right on time.

I beg to differ... If you get an advanced audio program such as SoundForge or Cool Edit Pro and have precise timing, the transition between pieces will be unnoticeable.

i can cut them and do what u said the problem is that i wanted like have ...
let's call it a DJ scv there will be 4 powerups that are the diferent tracks
scv will bring a crysalis and one "track" will be played but when it wants to change like pick up the psi emiter and play that it will have to wait..double or it will have to loop with the current track...and that's......not what i want....
bah i think i'll just give up...hmmm by the way by saying track it's not the entire song it's like arround 16-20 seconds the 4 of them
anyways thank all of u

Audacity is a really good sound manipulating application, free & open source.

And it even works for Macs. But that doesn't really matter anyway. tongue.gif

Yeah i had the crazy idea that i was going to create a "music video" kinda like a fireworks map to song where all the explotions match the beats and stuff. And i wanted it to be pauceable and all those good features.

Good old macros for cutting the wavs and triggers lol.

Nice. It'd be cool if you made a full map out of it.
