First, make a sphere.

Click on the make editable icon:

Or press "c" on your keyboard.

Click on the polygon tool:

Right click, and choose magnet.

Hold shift and start pulling on the sphere till you got something like this:

Now, without holding down shift, stretch out the areas that you've just finishing pulling outward:
[attachmentid=9706]

Now, start selecting parts of the sphere:
[attachmentid=9707]

Now bevel till you get something like this:
[attachmentid=9708]

Now, inner extrude:
[attachmentid=9709]

Now, extrude:
[attachmentid=9710]

Now, bevel it again:
[attachmentid=9711]

Now, you can add hypernurbs to the sphere, and/or add a material on it..
And then render biggrin.gif

What i did was imported it into 3dsm, and added the materials there. I find that 3dsm does better renders than C4d.

This is my final render:

The tutorial is for Cinema 4d v8.5 (even though v9 kicksass). I just used 3d Studio Max for adding the material, and the rendering part.

These kinds of programs can cost from hundreds to thousands of dollars..
