Today, I hit an all-time record of banning people from the DLDB in one day.

As some of you might have read, I was looking for some Music Theme for my map and I saw that someone had marked himself as the author of a FF7 music .wav which was totally unedited. As I fixed the file and warned the person, I decided to look at all 3 music categories and found many files with similar situations as above.

I found a total of 4 members with stolen wavs and I have banned them all. SEN is a big supporter of being againg stolen files. Not only stolen maps as msot of you might've thought, but any kind of file uploaded to any part of this website.

The banned users are: Toa5555, FaTaL-KiD, slayer766 and Dante50.

A friendly reminder to you all who visit the DLDB: I will be looking for stolen files more regularly now and I encourage all other DLDB Keepers to do the same. If any user finds a stolen file like the ones above, be it a map or a .wav or even a .mod, please report it inmediately to any DLDB Keeper or Administrator.

Don't worry BeeR, I will personally go through evrey file in the DLDB and see if ANY are stolen, Just for SEN and the DLDB keepers

I seriously don't see what you get for stealing files... Maybe some flame and people hating you.

They act as if there not going to get caught.

Make sure to check the tutorials database too. Many of them we ourselves wrote but I have seen people even trying to steal tutorials.

i found a tutorial from the tut db and it was stolen by that Ojan* guy.
I saw that tutorial off of starcraft.org or something like that

Are you sure Ojan stole it? Ojan seemed to make a lot of tutories at The Sovereign Modding Empire, so it could be that the person who submitted it to StarCraft.org took credit.

I don't know him that well, but he doesn't seem to be the kind of person who steals wavs and such.

I think that a bunch of them might have been a mistake.

Beer_KeG, did you even ask Yoshi about this before you did something here? They're WAV files. If it says "FF7 Theme" its obvious that the company who made FF7 (SquareSoft) is the original author. Perhaps they misunderstand, and when they see Author, they think it is them because maybe they ripped the sound file themselves. You went off a little extreme, dude.

slayer766, aka Oo.SlayeR.oO, is a close friend of mine. He gets his wavs usually from recording sounds he likes from video games and such. He probably put down his name as "Author" because he made/recorded that sound into a wav file... All I know is slayer would do such a thing

Also: If it was slayer who got banned becuase of the FF7 theme. Lift it. Seriously he's a prominant memeber and might have thought that that part meant subbmitter. (He might have been tired at the time. It could have been late at night).

Really, thats not late, and dont submit files at midnight if thats "late" for you.
BUT i still think maybe he should get another chance. What about my idea?

Ojan is a well respected long time member of the modding community and will never do anything like that.

The one you saw on starcraft.org is written by BSTRhino and there was another one that was done by Dark_Soul74 too. All three are different from each other.
