You would have used a different editor to place the black 'null' and square terrain.
Some of the black terrain squares (in particular "null" in starforge") will not be viewed properly in Staredit or in Xtra editor. It will view properly as black in-game, however.

Yea "Null" Can get reallly annoying. I have a map where 3/4 is null and it is really hard to see locations. Null isn't a bad thing but its not a good thing so there is no need to worry wink.gif

This is why I use a different black square from the master palette. Every other black square other than 0 - 0 (null), will show up fine and won't mess up the screen.

What can I say, one of the many reasons to switch to a SCMDraft2 starforge combination.

I've never found it to be a problem... I mean it's there and all, but it doesn't bother me. Guess it's just me. happy.gif

m.r.bob, some people don't like the Triggering for that. Now, I know that triggers aren't related to the 'null' terrain, but it would be if you need to move around the locations to fine-point everything. {A little off-topic, but wanted to put in my opinion}

That happens to me all the time, it gets quite annoying.
Damn scxe...

Don't blame Staredit. Map files weren't designed to have null terrain on them so the editor wasn't designed to handle them. Just like sprites. Just like awkwardly shaped locations. Just like extended players and units.

Who said that it was staredits fault? How Is null created because like i would use 1 terrain in a map and the same in another and i would get nul. How does it work?
Immagine a full map of Nul, Know how annoying that would be.

Staredit doesn't render the terrain the same way it is in Starcraft, so I would say thats staredit's fault.

would be nice if their was a update to xtra editor so that the annoyense would go away. lol in my dreams

The thing is scxe is a mod of the original editor which limits its capabibilites because its not independent like scmdraft 2 or starfroge.
